Their usage rate wasn't comparable. It was KD's team from the beginning and he was given the freedom to shoot his way up. Ingram always played behind multiple volume shooters and then LeBron who makes everyone around him's stats worse. Harden couldn't even get a max before he came to Houston but look what happened.

The league pumped up scoring so 27 ppg back then is like 32 ppg now.

Bruh what are you doing? That's argument for my position. They have never had similar responsibilities. Their career trajectories are nothing alike.

Brandon Ingram is having a breakout offensive season, averaging 25.9 points per game while shooting 53.7% from the floor and 46.9% from 3-point range. The Pelicans, who rank second-to-last in the league in defensive rating, have bled points with Ingram on the floor. The Pelicans have allowed 117.6 points per 100 possessions in Ingram's 289 minutes, compared to 100.6 points per 100 possessions in 148 minutes without him. - MacMahon

Lowe: Brandon Ingram Will Be Max Contract Player In 2020 Free Agency

Brandon Ingram and the New Orleans Pelicans were unable to agree to a contract extension this past October and he is now poised to be one of the more coveted free agents on the market in 2020 after so many of his fellow 2016 draft classmates signed deals.

Ingram will be a restricted free agent.

"Oh, he's going to get the max," said Ingram. "I don't think there's any question about that. By the way, I don't fault the Pelicans for not extending him."

Will be interesting to see how he performs when Zion comes back.
