Every nba player is wasting their career if they are not playing on Golden State.

Not fair to compare dwight to Kareem Hakeem and Yao.

Those guys are easily top 5 offensive centers of all time. With Kareem and Hakeem being top 5 on both sides.

Dwight is easy a top 5 defensive center off all time. His peak was as good as any Hakeem had and he's regarded as the goat on that side of the ball.

What dwight needs to continue to do is what he's been Doing. He's having his best season since his last one in Orlando before the injury. He's taking smarter shots and finishing at almost the highest Clip of his career.

Before the stupid ankle sprain he had 10 staright double doubles and was avg 20/13. I'll take those numbers every day of the week from any big man in the game and there's only about 5 that can even do that for more 1or 2 games let alone 10. We're lucky with dwight.

Durant or no durant this offseason it's important for us to keep dwight with harden. Eventually if not kd then somone else will come to form a big 3. It's still a great foundation to go foward with and dwight has shown me a lot this year after last seasons injury riddled year.

If he had any post moves at all, this wouldn't be a problem. His best and highest use in the offensive game is lobs and put backs off rebounds. That's about it. He's a black hole and doesn't pass out of the post well...combined with very limited post moves and the inability to make free throws, that doesn't make for a player you need to be worried about getting touches to.

Having said that...he's a tremendous defensive presence, and the Rockets would miss that a lot if he weren't here.

    Yes.

He would have been better off with Golden State, Atlanta or Dallas.

Probably not a max deal & probably not the same teams but he'll have his choice again this summer. We'll see.

He could have had a decent shot at the championship last year with the Warriors at the very least.

    We will never know.

If dwight wasn't on this team. They would have been bounced out in first round every year and would be a 6-8 seed like 2012-2013

I know, I was trying to say we are just not using him properly so might as well trade him. He's constantly open, in the right position yet we do not feed him the ball.

    He's wasted today.

14 and 8 in the first half while the rest of the team is a dumpster fire

Yeah he has been ok, but he is getting out hustled by Leonard and Plumlee.

They are a 6-8 seed with him. Without him they would have 22 million to change that.

Oh I'm sorry. I forgot that we have been those seeds the past 2 years In 2013, we are a low seed and get swept without him. Morey probably wastes the money on some role players. In 2014. Regular season probably stays close to the same. No Josh. Bounced out in first since the 2-6 seed race was separated by like 3 games so a low seed that year. No playoff run. This year the entire team has been terrible while dwight is silently having his best season since Orlando outside of scoring. You think this team would be good with just harden? Enjoy the playoffs bud. He disappears come playoff time because he is the worst superstar in the league. Is he bad? Not at all. But having a choice of every superstar in this league. Harden is the bottom on that list due to his many many negatives that he doesn't care to address. He has his money and hookers. He needs nothing more. The fact some of you think we'd be better without him is hilarious. How was this team before he got here? Exactly.

The Rockets are 25th in defense. If they're going to spend over 20 million on Howard and still be one of the worst defenses in the league, they're wasting their money. If he's having a good season as you say, then it's a huge waste of money because it's not helping. The offense is actually good but the defense is terrible.

There is no answer. Nobody will make this defense good. It's a team issue. If Dwight goes. The defense gets WORSE and the offense and rebounding gets worse. 0 interior presence. No frontcourt. Capela has shown he can't last even half a season before hitting a wall. If Dwight goes, it does nothing but hurt this team and there is no replacement. Hakeem wouldn't make this defense good. That's how bad it is. But I don't need to tell you that.

I'm willing to risk the #25 defense getting worse if it means I have 22 million to spend on upgrading the team somewhere else.

You should change the thread to...

"Is Dwight wasting his career by not adding anything to his game ever?"
