So this got me thinking...there's five categories to get double-digits in (points, assists, blocks, steals and rebounds)...is it ever at all possible for a player to get that? Could Lebron do it? And is it more or less possible to achieve it than scoring 100 points in a game? Discuss Clutchfans!
I think Hakeem Olajuwon would be the only person that could have done it. He had technically two quadruple doubles (but the NBA reviewed it and had it taken away). Hakeem was top 10 all time in steals so he just needed 10 steals to have a pentruple double.
Seems extremely unlikely. Only 2 players have gotten a quadrupole double and they have been great players; David Robinson in '94 and The Dream in '90
Obviously it's possible since you already spelled it out. Dream had a quadruple double (maybe twice)? The toughest part is obviously the 10 blocks and 10 steals. The big guys like Anthony Davis can get the 10 blocks but not the steals. The pesky guards can get the 10 steals but not 10 blocks. Andrei Kirilenko in his prime is the type of player that could probably pull it off. A really lanky and athletic forward is the best candidate to pull it off.
I feel like Michael carter Williams could pull it off kid is crazy talented man and he's only a rookie he almost had a quadruple double way back in the beginning of the season 22 points 12 assists 9 steals 7 rebounds he has good hands and he's a 6'6 pg so that might help him block shots I feel like he is one of the few who could pull it off
the ones that matter is can someone get 10 blocks and 10 steals, as the other 3 are infinitely easier. The only player playing today that could conceivably do it is the brow, but i doubt it.
10 steals by itself is practically impossible (has only been done 13 times ever). So this will never ever happen.
Keep in mind that Drexler was one assist and one rebound away from having two quadruple doubles himself. Scary to think he and Olajuwon were on the same team considering that.
The ladies got it done: The first was recorded by Tamika Catchings of Duncanville High School (Duncanville, Texas) with 25 points, 18 rebounds, 11 assists, 10 steals and 10 blocks in 1997.[118] The second was by Aimee Oertner of Northern Lehigh High School (Slatington, Pennsylvania), who had 26 points, 20 rebounds, 10 assists, 10 steals, and 11 blocks on January 7, 2012.[119]
Agree with this. Nick Batum is another guy like AK-47 who has the tools to achieve it, he and Kirilenko are the only players in the last decade to get the 5x5.
Apparently Drexler was SUPPOSED to get an assist in that one game in '96 but was somehow taken away. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ywe3R2X7Gl0 But it's called a quintuple double, and as PhiSlammaJamma mentioned those two players were the ones to achieve it. There's also 5-by-5s, (at least 5 of each stat) and Hakeem has 6, the only player to have more than 2 which is pretty remarkable.
He had 34 points, 10 Rebounds, 10 Assists, 10 Blocks, and 2 Steals, unless he's had 2 quadruple doubles.
