I'd rather him stay one more season and become the starter when Rubio vacates the position. He'll be NBA ready right off the bat and we may not have to be involved in some complicated buyout. He seems like a bright prospect though.
It is best for him to stay in Euro league for at least this year to get some playing time. I believe he is the top candidate to make it to Rockets roster among all of our 2nd round picks stacked oversea. On another thought, maybe he is one of the reason Morey didn't sign Lowry to extension? (Morey & Lowry  )
With a lot more defense. If we were to bring him say within the next year or two, what would his salary look like? Would it matter that he was a second round pick or would the Rockets, not saying they will, throw as much money as they feel he's worth? Maybe a Jermaine Taylor type deal, right.
Sergio Llull is someone I've had questions about, so I liked this. Not to pick at rocketsjudoka's pet peeve, but I do wonder if he's considered a small trade asset right now. The Rockets did have interest in Ricky Rubio and my belief is they still do -- not a ton of room for point guards here without change.
I would think that if we did make a move for Rubio it would be in the offseason. I doubt we could knock the T-Wolves over with a deal, without surrendering our assets at this seasons playoff run. Although Clutch has informed us time and time again, that we are planning for the future and not banking on this season. Should be very interesting trade deadline.
Thanks a lot Clutch, now no one will answer my question... JK, but I feel like everyone on our team is a tradeable asset except Yao. I don't think there is anyway Morey is accepting a bunch of scrubs from NY the way people have been reporting, especially after everyone states that he "overvalues" his players. And really, is there a problem with that? Shouldn't every team overvalure their players? That's why you have them and aquire them in the first place, because they can help a team and bring value with their skill. Just sayin. *shrug*
This may be one of those classic Clutchfans moments, but I think Llull's game transfers to the NBA better than Rubio's.
Considering Llull is locked up for another season and half, and hasn't really played more then 20 minutes a game, I wouldn't say that is the best solution for this season.
I found it funny that they posted this story about Llull, the same day we face off against the Spurs. Because we skipped on Blair 2 times for this kid. They are just doing this just in case Blair has a monster game.
From my knowledge Rubio won't be able to get out of his current contract until 2011. I think even if the Rockets have interest in Rubio they will not trade for him this season.
Rubio plays in Barcelona; current starting PG in Madrid is Pablo Prigioni, but he's already declining, Llull is playing better and he's now more important for the team. Could be the starting PG next season. I think a 2-3 per year deal. Llull will be a good player but by no means has Rubio's talent. Rubio will be a star, while Llull a role player. Ricky is playing better than ever and competing at the highest euoropean level. I highly doubt Minnesota is trading this player if not receiving much in return, he's gonna improve and improve. Obviously, I would love him on our team, and I think Morey too.
I love how he almost picked Deron Williams' pocket at mid court. Anyways, the description sounds like a VSpan [*gulp*] who can shoot.
How curious that we could possibly end up with both Rubio and Llull. That would be a hellacious, LARGE, and quick point guard combination for opponents to deal with. Heck, we could run them out at the same time for stretches. [/dreaming]
