It's kind of funny. When I lived up north, I never, ever would have dated a white girl. My aunt had always told me to not stray from my people, and all the black girls I knew constantly complained that all the white girls took away their men. My brother, before he died, was married to a Hispanic woman, but only because they had a baby together. I don't think either of them could stand each other. So I only dated and slept with black women. There weren't very many white influences where I lived anyways so I felt it was natural. I met my soon-to-be-fiancee when I moved to Katy (for my senior year of high school) and then Houston (met her in the city). Damn. It just all fell into place. The first white girl (or any different race) I dated is the one I'm spending the rest of my life with. Yeah, sometimes it's tough, and some people shake their heads and stare, but love conquers everything. And since we have not started a physical relationship, I'm learning a lot just from listening to her. Like...white ppl are much more compassionate than I've been told my whole life. We're all people, and I love it when I see all different combinations of race. It makes me excited about the future.
Well I am white and I've never really dated a white girl so I guess I am for interracial dating. Its not that I don't like white girls, I just have never ended up dating one. I like the latinas....my fiance is a latina.
This in my mind is a better question. I have thought about this subject when dating women. I (white guy) have dated hispanic women and never thought twice about that, but the fact that they're catholic and I'm protestant has entered my mind. I guess any time you date somebody who is not exactly like you there are going to be some difficulties involved.
I am really surprised nobody has voted "as long as it's not a friend or family member". I have heard plenty of people say stuff like they don't mind as long as none of their kids do it or they would disapprove if a friend did it and so on.
