probably has neuropraxia which is just a transient injury to a nerve. he probably had a hit to the outside of his leg where the nerve lies right behind the head of the fibula. the nerve actually wraps around the fibula and splits into a superficial and a deep component. contusions will generally heal, but just a matter of time; nerves are finicky so it's hard to predict how long it'll be.

McHale said Bev will be back for the Thunder game this Sunday in the 790 Charlie P show 2 hours ago. TJ will wait till next week to check again.

Jones' injury could be chronic. He always looks nervous on the court.

Any time you lose depth your record could be hurt. I know you hate "_ones", as you like to call him, but try to be at least somewhat objective about it.

Yeah, if nothing else it makes us play our guys more than we normally would going with 8 man rotations instead of 9 and that can fatigue people over the course of the season. I still prefer DMo starting most of the time, but I am hoping Jones gets back sooner rather than later.

He'll be even more nervous when he goes home to Oregon from now on.

Once again, you know wrong. I don't hate Terrence. But I view Terrence (and by extension DMo) a non-difference maker on this team. In fact I believe at this time that the more minutes we play small ball with Ariza and KPAP up front with Harden, Canaan, and JET around Dwight the better off we are.

So basically it's like when you sit on the pooper too long and you get up and your feet have got numb.

Cool. We'll need him for that B2B. Having Canaan off the bench and Terry backing up mostly at the 2 will really help.

Except that every single piece of data so far in the short season has proved contrary to your ridiculous belief-

    http://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/HOU/2015/lineups/

If your belief is true that it is throwing out the notion that rebounding & defensive efficiency means anything especially on the offensive glass.

Maybe Jones and D-Mo aren't "difference makers" if you in theory plug in a likewise PF/C in their spot that has relate-able characteristics, but there is no question at all that the Rockets are better with their contributions & depth than without them at all.

Perhaps you don't "Hate" Terrence Jones, but your consistent effort to campaign like a mad-man to de-value his contribution to the team is beyond obsessive. You don't have to call is "Hate" but its something.

Thinking that Dmo and TJ don't make any contribution to this team is just plain dumb!

I want you to go back to that link, then click on the Effective FG% column, then click on the FTA (Free throws attempted) column, then click on the TRB% (Total Rebound Percentage) column, then click on the AST (Assists minus opponents assists). One thing you will notice is that the top combination on EVERY ONE of those categories has Papanikolaou playing the PF.

I believe that basketballholic's argument was that we should use Papa at the 4 more often because we play better with a small ball lineup. Based on the data, we are better (ON BOTH SIDES OF THE BALL) when we play small ball.

Ok, whether papa is better off playing alot of 4 minutes is a different issue. But saying losing TJ/Dmo which depletes your depth/bench wont matter most definitely is a bias statement. Especially coming from someone that has nothing but negative things to say about both of them and spells their name wrong on purpose. But yeah hes not bias at all.....

Offensively, the stats are pretty clear that there is merit to suggesting the Rockets can go small when they want more of an offensive punch. Paps has been very good in that small ball lineup even despite his streakyness from 3.

However, that's not really the point. The Point is, the term difference maker was used, and D-Mo & Jones were referred to as non-difference makers. It doesn't take a genius to see that there is merit to what they have brought so far, and lineups that they are involved in have been very successful thus far.

Is there anyone on here other than BHollic/Jopat that serious thinks it would benefit the Rockets to remove D-Mo and Jones from the Rockets rotation and replace them with small ball exclusively? That is a completely absurd opinion. If they didn't add value, they wouldn't be in the top 3 OVERALL most productive lineups with the highest usage.
