Go look at his stats again he has never shot over 40% in his life ever.

Others we could have used with the MLE: Shaun Livingston, Rudy Gay, Dewayne Dedmon, and CJ Miles.

Keep trying? I already gave you 5 different points. What more do you need? I go by his potential/stats/age/contract amount. You're going by what he brings to the table aka toughness and can guard multiple positions. You can get those players in the 2nd round and pay them much less than $8 million per year.

Curse of greasy Keith Jones. Mfer prolly took PJ Tucker for the late night whataburger "snack" and made him workout after dumping 5000 calories in him

He is 31 right? We are talking about Tucker or am I missing something? Because so far his numbers and age are similar to Shane Battier and he was very good in his role with Miami....

hilarious thing is you apparently think .350 is a bad shooter, atleast that what it sounds like. who cares if hes near 37 by the end of the contract. hes a contributor now and for the foreseeable future. your gripe on something 4 years from now once again is pretty dumb. apparently you need to be on the all defensive team to be a good defender. airmchairs these days.

People who defend well straight out of the draft are miracle defenders. The NBA takes some getting used to for the large majority of players. Especially on the defensive end. Also, those players you listed aren't as flexible on defense. CJ Miles is probably the best defender you listed there, but he's never going to defend the power forward position well.

PJ was clearly the best option for being able to switch on defense because he can guard smaller and bigger players with decent success. Yes there are better shooters out there, but the combination of his ability to get a steal, shoot the long ball at a decent clip, get a rebound, switch on defense.. I don't think there was another player out there that can do all that. On top of all of that, he can handle the ball too. Sure, he's not going to wow you putting up big numbers in any one category, but I'm sure you'll take notice when he's contributing to the team in lots of different ways every night. He'll be that guy that you think, 'wow, it seems like he's everywhere'.

Maybe we're going to give some of the kids some burn time to showcase for a trade.

Have you even watched PJ Tucker play? Do you love his 7.7 points he brings to the table?
How is he contributing now? By being sidelined, overpaid and overweight with a hamstring issue? If you ever played sports this injury is likely to linger throughout the entire season and just doesn't go away. He's a career back up player and wasn't drafted in the 1st round coming out of college for a reason yet you expect him to be the next Scottie Pippen on our team. You probably haven't even seen him play once for Toronto/Phoenix.

It's obvious you and everyone in here is hyping this guy to be an elite defender able to defend "MULTIPLE" positions. I call BS and have yet to witness oh wait I have seen his defense... the night James Harden went over 40 on him.

Hilarious thing is you believe he's a decent 3 point shooter yet he doesn't even average 1 three pointer MADE per game. He made a grand total of 72 last season. Where is this 3 and D you speak of? Please tell me more ::insert Willy Wonka pic here::

Turned 32 in May will be 32.5 when the season starts. 37 when his contract is over.

Battier was a top 5 pick coming out of the draft. Very high IQ. Championship player. Starter for majority of his career. You're comparing apples and oranges.

Shane didn't have Lebron, Wade and Bosh.... Lebron, Wade and Bosh had Shane... Shane only had one job, play defense and drain threes.... Nothing else was asked of him other than hustle, defense and threes.... Tucker has virtually the same role in Houston with a lot of talent... Sit down...

I've seen him play plenty. It seems you need to try that as you sound exactly like someone getting everything from espn.com

Overweight lol please do yourself a favor and stop embarrassing yourself. You're probably that clueless that you believe the picture posted in this thread is real. Wouldn't surprise me though.
