Hopefully it's a Chuck Hayes type of hyperextension and not like Shaq's.

This begs the question, when the hell is T-Mac coming back? He's been out a couple of weeks already.

On the plus side, this year's draft is going to be deep. Let's hope can get a stud PF or PG. Next year we'll be true contenders.

OK, my worse nightmare was just realized. Tracy out due to back injury -> Yao carries the team -> Yao got injured

For the guy who earn 20 million a season, if you don't get well, pls retire ASAP!

sorry i couldn't help it.

anyway, no one knows how long yao will be out. maybe only a couple of weeks like hayes was... no reason to tank then.

How long does a bone bruise keep a player out? Or does it even cause someone to miss time?

Yao exits game vs. Clippers with right knee injury

HOUSTON -- Yao Ming injured his right knee and left in the first quarter of Houston's game against the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday night.

It's a right knee bone bruise. The Clilpper's broadcaster said that's a good sign.

Yao was leaping for a blocked shot as Chuck Hayes and Tim Thomas hit the floor beneath him. Yao's knee appeared to get caught under Thomas' body and Yao immediately grabbed his knee and screamed in pain.

Trainer Keith Jones left the Rockets' bench to check on Yao and team doctors joined him. Rockets officials brought out a cart, but Yao limped off the floor, with teammate Bonzi Wells helping him.

Yao is off to the best start of his career, averaging 27 points and nine rebounds. He had topped 30 points in four consecutive games before scoring 22 in Friday's 97-78 victory at San Antonio.

The Rockets were already playing without six-time All-Star Tracy McGrady, who sat out for the seventh straight game with back spasms.

Ray Allen suffered one early this month. He's missed 9 games so far.
