Yeah, India is not for soft and naive people. You guys should stay away. Most Americans are going to get taken advantage of. Unlike America, poor Indians go to the tourist traps and will fleece you of your money. They see you as dumb and rich and to be taken advantage of. I've actually had work assignment many years ago in South India. In Chennai and Bangalore. I've vacationed in Kerala. Such a beautiful place. I figure most people hating on India have never even visited the South of the country. I've felt safer in India than in other places I've lived before like in Baltimore, Houston or the Bronx.

My parents are from Pakistan, which according to most I hear from is way better (living condition wise) than India, and I wouldn't recommend visiting it to anyone.

You know the first thing my mom told me REPEATEDLY to not do while we were in the plane? Do not in any circumstance speak english or we'll get ****ing robbed. I was 14 and haven't gone back since despite being asked by family from there to come visit every other week.

 

My parents are from Pakistan as well, but I've visited both countries, and Pakistan's living conditions are definitely NOT better than India's. The fact that most Pakistanis and Pakistan-Americans think otherwise is laughable.

 

i'd take any pakistani opinion on india with a grain of salt and vice versa
