Any actual articles? I know the owner is nuts, especially when he chose to remain open the last few weeks.
These are people aren't Christians. They don't follow the teachings of Jesus or they wouldn't treat their employees this way.
What a **** hole. Since they already fired all their workers I hope they go chapter 7 and never return and some merely ogreish company fills their slot.
Just because a person say their a Christian doesn't make them one.... It's like someone saying they love you, but not showing it.... T_Man
How about the Atlanta Journal-Constitution? Report: Hobby Lobby tells workers no paid sick leave during national crisis https://www.ajc.com/news/report-hob...uring-national-crisis/dCh3HmqGzj4wGwhinYmu3N/
If this is true it's sad people need stores like this right now the kids are home and need something else to do after there online school work is done this store and other like it are really needed right now. Is Hobby Lobby Refusing To Close Stores Because of a Message from God? Hobby Lobby reportedly sent a letter to employees explaining its stores were staying open during the COVID-19 pandemic because, in part, CEO David Green's wife had received reassurances from God.
God told them greed is as good as long as they’re successful and to aim high by attempting to stick a camel through the eye of a needle. That’s somewhere in Hobby Lobby’s mission statement.
I believe what has been reported is that in areas where HL was deemed "non-essential" there were store closures.
I take it Hobby Lobby is too big for one of those forgivable SBA loans but too small for those sweet federal corporate bailouts. There are exceptions, but where companies have been magnanimous to employees, it's because they've found a way to recoup the costs from someone else -- a relief fund, a forgivable loan, deferred collections (maybe even with interest). When you're a company left holding the bag and you can't shift your cost on anyone else, you lay people off. The good news is that all those workers are eligible for the covid enhanced-benefit unemployment checks. That might be the best thing they can do for their employees. They have no revenues but have to pay rent, utilties, insurance, etc etc on how many properties? That's a recipe for bankruptcy. They are quite understandably in cash preservation mode.
It just keeps getting worse for the Hobby Lobby President: All of the Museum of the Bible’s Dead Sea Scrolls Are Fake, Report Finds In 2009, Hobby Lobby president Steve Green began acquiring a collection of 16 Dead Sea Scrolls for his Museum of the Bible, a sprawling institution in Washington, D.C. that seeks to provide “an immersive and personalized experience with the Bible, and its ongoing impact on the world around us.” The museum opened in 2017—and not long after, doubts began to swirl about the authenticity of its Dead Sea Scrolls. Five were confirmed to be fake. And now, reports Michael Greshko for National Geographic, a study commissioned by the museum has reached an even more damning conclusion: “[N]one of the textual fragments in the Museum of the Bible’s Dead Sea Scroll collection are authentic.” https://www.smithsonianmag.com/smar...-sea-scrolls-are-fake-report-finds-180974425/
Well if anyone deserved to get scammed on dead scroll purchases, it sounds like it was this Hobby Lobby dicky-heady.
