just got in yesterday. here till the 3rd of february. im hoping to go to the rockets vs warriors game on the 29th. havent gotten tickets yet. whats the best option to get there? also what about parking? im currently staying at Drury Inn in Woodland. im planning to go to NASA space center and visiting Tx A&M college station, the university i was supposed to go to. any advise on places i shouldnt miss out?
Fine fine fine. I'll give him a Houston welcome. Go find a place called Treasures. Make sure you say Howdy often.
im here visiting the corporate office. i was supposed to go to texas a&m for my engineering degree, but went to canada instead. Kam, Treasures isnt some High School Musical-related attraction is it?
It could be.. It's sorta Vanessa Hudgens related. There is that touristy stuff like NASA. Don't forget the Kemah Boardwalk. It's right next to each other. Galveston if you feel like seeing pretty Brown Water. There is always the air conditioned Galleria Shopping center if you feel like a big baller. It's right near the Williams tower, just like in that pretty picture. Some of us still call it the Transco tower. If you get lost, just follow interstate 610 til you get to the end of it. There used to be a huge billboard of a cockroach on 59. I don't think it's there anymore. That was a landmark, and I am actually being serious.
Here's what I do when I visit Houston. First thing is get a Wataburger and then a Shipleys donut. As far as sights to see you should check out the Houston Museum of Fine Arts and the area around there is really nice.
That's funny because the first thing I do when I get to Houston is go to James Coney Island and Shipleys. But I'd probably opt for Whataburger instead if I was from out of state.
There is parking all around the Toyota Center. I recommend paying $10-20 to park in a lot near the arena. They have them all over the place. You just take 45 south from the Woodlands and it takes you directly to downtown Houston As far as Nasa goes, I hear it is pretty disappointing from people that visit, but I have not been there since I was a kid. I highly recommend that you try a warm Shipley's glazed donut in the morning (people already mentioned it), Tex-Mex (I think there is a Lupe Tortilla's in the Woodlands...good beef fajitas), bbq (chopped beef sandwich or brisket) and a Whataburger. Houston has great museums if you have the time or interest. I'm not very familiar with the Woodlands area, so I don't know of any places to go around there
