Scored 5 more ppg in 5 more minutes. I think shooting 150 more 3's and the same 3pt fg % is a big deal; he doubled his 3pt output while keeping same efficiency. Shot better on 2pt attempts. Not mind blowing evolution, but consistent improvement. First 2 years 39 total 3's made @ 27% and 20%. 3rd year 49 made @ 38%. 4th 96 made at 37.5 %
just because you put up more shots doesn't mean you're actually better or improved. he's overall the same player he was a season ago. so his "improvement" reached a halt in year 4 and tbh increasing the attempts of about 4, only to score ~5 pts more isn't good
I'll tell ya, dude, this is one I want you to get right. He's improved, he's local, he fits the bill. I'd take this guy if it helps Westbrook to Miami.
Except Covington is 6'9 better 3pt shooter AND elite defender. 6'9 trumps 6'6, especially on a team starting a 6'6 PF.
I was just comparing to Covington at 23, when he was a rookie with the Rockets. He is clearly much better than Winslow now, but has had 6 years to improve.
Covington is a better defender than Winslow, but that's not a knock on Justise, he's still pretty good, it's just that the other guy is basically elite in that aspect. Ad on the other hand Winslow is more skilled, like others said he can create and pass much better than Rob so, considering he's also 5/6 years younger with some upside left, i'd be ok with him, although Rob might be more of an instant upgrade for us as today.
so Shumpert's deal has to be $13M for 3 years with only first year guaranteed. it would still be beneficial to teams like Memphis if they just want to stockpile picks. or the thunder/wolves who want to clear space and acquire picks.
Enjoyed the videos, @basketballholic. Winslow has really been improving. He has decent size for a wing at 6'7" and hops, and is getting better at handling the ball. Heck, Miami has used him a lot at the one. I don't know why they are going after Westbrook. I think they're crazy, but if we could get involved by offering Shump on a 2 year deal, 2nd year team option, and picks, maybe a 1st and a 2nd, walking away with Winslow, I'd be excited. Covington would be another possible addition I'd get excited about, but Winslow is 5 years younger and still has potential to improve. He's also not coming off of a knee injury. Very unlikely and I don't know why Miami would part with him, or why OKC would if he's available. Well worth a try, though.
I mean, let's be real, probably not. 450 players on active rosters. Pretty hard to select a single player and hope he comes.
