Exactly my point about Morey's 1st 3 yrs with TMac and Yao. He HAD two all stars. So why are you saying SIX years when Morey had two allstars for his first 3 years.

LOL. you make no sense. What was your point again in the context of this thread?

Frankly, before the Harden deal I had concluded that Morey just liked to swap players and was largely clueless as how to build a team (because during his tenure he hasn't built much of anything), BUT, now he has put the team in a relatively good position, so I would be on board if I could see the games. But I rarely think about the Rockets any more. But don't hold your breath, he might start swapping again and the team could be right back to square one.

His 1st four years Yao and TMac were the central point of the team. When they were healthy the Rockets were 50+ win teams. TMac is only 33 and Yao is only 32 so both should still be playing and making all star teams but their bodies broke down. There is nothing Daryl Morey could do about that.

Last season was the 1st year the Rockets did not have Yao or TMac or both during the Daryl Morey years so the way I see it the Rockets just started rebuilding. If your giving Daryl Morey a 6 year plan then talk to me in 2018 and we will see if he was successful or not.

Okay I will bite. What is the plan if we fire Morey?

The Morey keeper has a plan; keep Morey, use the cap space Morey cultivated, grow with Lin, Asik, Harden, Parsons and the rookies all Morey acquisitions, Allow Morey to find the players that fit around Harden. Continue to use analytics to aid in player development.

    What is your plan?

    Bleed Red Rockets Red.

So you think a guy making an obvious troll title, then copy/pasted a B-R page, added no substance of his own, made a thread... is 5 stars? Now I realize why GARM is so cluttered with garbage.

    Couple of questions for OP:

    1) What was his 1st best move in your opinion (you never stated in your very well thought out post, even though you shared the 2nd and 3rd best).

    2) What would you have done in Morey's place. Obviously you would've signed Lebron James, lured him over w/ your persuasive skills shown in the thread, but besides that.

Awesome post. You should consider starting a thread saying this very same thing.

I agree with your post, it's funny how people seem to blame Morey for both Yao and Tmac getting injured. I think we have made a good comeback after losing two superstars with pretty much nothing in return.

And now for the counterpoint: http://www.sloansportsconference.com/?p=58

Simply put, this is one of the best NBA GMs in the league.

Your post also left out a number players that he was responsible for acquiring which turned out to be solid players:

    2007
    Mike James
    Carl Landry
    Mike Harris
    Luis Scola

    2008
Ron Artest (MWP) - this came from that supposedly dumb move regarding Batum/Greene/Arthur (hint: we came out ahead at that time)

    2009
Chase Budinger, #44 in the draft (a steal); who can forget the blind dunk last year?

    2010
Extended contracts for Scola and Lowry (both excellent moves)
    Traded Ariza for Courtney Lee
Traded for Kevin Martin and said sayonara to T-it'smyfault-mac

The list goes on - http://hoopshype.com/general_managers/daryl_morey.htm

He's done right by the Rockets and we're lucky to have him.

Why does a post like this even get 100 responses? One of the most inaccurate idiotic titles of a thread in the history of clutchfans.
