In April 2012, 42% of Clutchfans wanted Morey fired. If you were one of them you should feel bad about yourself.
I'm a huge Morey fan, but... Fixed: He traded Lin to the only team dumb enough to take his contract. Fixed: He traded Marcus to a team who wanted him badly. Fixed: He traded Brooks to a team Brooks wanted to be traded to, and with a no-trade clause, Aaron had the right to choose. Morey's a great GM, but he's not a freakin' saint.
Helping two teams in your own division Dallas, New Orleans and striking out on every name your wanted. Yikes! Well....the Rockets have cap space now, fill up holes and resign Parsons
What a complete disaster of an off-season for Morey. Literally the worst case scenario. Completely waste next year with Dwight if we don't match Parsons and can't win a championship with this roster. Probably the worst off-season an NBA team had ever had. And that isn't just pouting. We added nothing, gave up a 1st to get worse by giving up Lin (he isn't worth the money but he is better than what we have), and either punt our cap room to give Parsons an awful contact or just sit and wait until next year. Just unbelievably bad.
How much cap space do the Rockets really have After resigning Parson? Huh smart guy. Can you answer that? They won't have $hit left. The MLE can't even get you Jordan Hill for christ's sakes.
He took a 54 win team cashed the chips in and lost. At worse the rockets could have done nothing this off season and gotten better. maybe. Right now, the rockets are worse off than that
he inherited a broke down Yao and Tmac and a roster full of scrubs and turned them into Harden and Howard. We have the best center and the best shooting guard in the game. That alone should guarantee his job safety. So we didn't get Melo or Bosh - neither did the Lakers, the Clippers, Golden State, etc etc. Should their GM's also get fired ? We've got a great GM who takes a lot of risks because, if you're not New York or LA, you've got to take risks to be competitive. People act like spoiled children. go watch some games from the "chuck hayes at center" years and then stfu.
Sure can classy guy! You plug up holes with the remainder of Asik/Lin money and resign Parsons with his birds right.
There is not much they can do right now. But you plug the holes on your roster bring a 25 year old(parsons) back to pair with a 24 year old(harden) and continue to grow. Morey struck out and that was bad. But there are still positives here.
Asik cried on the bench most of the season and Lin's impact was even. What have the rockets lost? Does anyone here still give this team a chance?
Harden could use this rejection as a motivator to get better on D and progress as a player. The more chips on this teams shoulder the better.
Two poison pill contracts out the door along with Bosh. Best GM in the league? Ooh that's right, Durant's a FA in 2 years
