This is the most insightful post this thread will see.

 

He is still a stat padder as evidenced by the fact that he is one of the league leaders in assists and rebounds amongst SG, TS%, and points. He is such a stat padder that he forces McHale to play him 38 minutes a game to put that in his resume.

 

Vague but actually quite accurate post. I'm OK with it.

The only one's who legit think Harden is selfish are LOF's. Everybody knows Harden is a score-first player, but he's got elite playmaking skills and is a very willing passer.

I might be wrong with this...but I remember reading that he's tops in the league in assists for non-point guards. Somebody could confirm/correct this if necessary.

 

James is an unselfish player just because.

 

nobodys saying hes selfish but rockets are not using him optimally...too much harden...harden is my favorite player...i even think he has jordanlike potential...but too much of harden is no good...

 

Yeah, I think the same thing about a lot of stuff.

Por ejemplo: When people say we iso a lot... It's like have you seen a Lakers game? Do you even watch any other team beside us? MWP iso's as much as James. Jordan Crawford was in iso-only-mode while with the Wizards and everyone was hurt. Jamal Crawford does it constantly. Paul Pierce and Jason Terry love that ****. Carmelo. I could go on...

The common thing with all the people I listed: They all have less assists than James.

A player can be an unselfish person and still play selfishly, just depending on what his skillset is like. I don't think anybody is saying Harden is selfish, some people just think that his game has an aspect of one-dimensionality.

 

LOL yeah right, I just read your post in another thread about how you want Harden to sit. You even created your own custom meme (which are terrible btw) saying "sit the beard."

 

Harden is great but he is selfish. It is possible to have high assist numbers and still be selfish. Anybody who handles the ball as much as harden will have some assists. Another thing to consider is that hardens teammates seem to play better when he is out. Harden is selfish to the point where Lin can't even be the primary ball handler on the team. Harden is great but if he wants to be a winner, he needs to play team ball.

 

Statistically, he doesn't handle the ball that much more than Lin.

Maybe its in the game plan for him to handle the ball more or just as much as Lin?
