What, Tiffany is good. However, I will provide you with a bit of an education on WHAT a true female artist can do with the popular music genre.

(this clip also has one of the best drummers in the history of rock, BTW)

Heck yeah- a lot of bands with female lead singers have great drummers. Mick Fleetwood, Clem Burke, Terri Bozzio, Martin Chambers, etc.

I just want to say that Debbie Gibson is insanely fine. She hotter now than she was when she was a kid.

Ok, I honestly tried to listen to Tiffany and enjoy it. I Think We're Alone Now, I Saw Him Standing There, Could've Been- I am sorry, What, but Lord have mercy, that is some of the most plastic music from the 80s, by far. It's even worse than I remember it. Eek.

If you want a combination of great looks and someone who can also write, play and sing, and from your decade (I'm assuming the 80s), I've got 2 words for you:

    Susanna.

    Hoffs.

    <iframe width="420" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/mu_pNeqAQ-U" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

And if you're into female lead singers, here is an excellent top 10 list for starters (mostly 70s, 80s and 90s)- I'll let the young kids recommend those from the 21st century):

    1. Joni Mitchell- Blue
    2. Dusty Springfield- Dusty in Memphis
    3. The Pretenders- Learning to Crawl
    4. Blondie- Parallel Lines
    5. Heart- Dreamboat Annie
    6. Eurythmics- Touch
    7. The Indigo Girls- Best of
    8. Pat Benatar- Crimes of Passion
    9. The Go-Gos- Beauty and the Beat
    10. Natalie Merchant- Tiger Lily

If you weren't a fan of Tiffany, you either a. wasn't born, or b. lying.

To your question, Stevie Nicks annoys me to no end.

Stevie Nicks was one of the most annoying singers ever. The only time when she was tolerable was in Fleetwood Mac, when there were other voices around her to cut down on her jarring, overproduced sound.

If we head back to 80s & look at talented teenagers who wrote their own music regardless of gender...

Overproduced? This coming from an Iffany fanboy? How the **** is Edge of Seventeen overproduced compared to ****ing Iffany? I'm starting to believe that What is some sort of plant- every once in a while, a good thread, but most of the time, just Godawful dumb on purpose. What's next, you're going to argue that Debbie Gibson was better than Madonna?

BUT now that I know, You're an idiot! Accept the fact that not everyone has the same taste in music and that there are only personal preferences!
Work on your comprehension skills, I didn't ask you a question you moron!

I try not to insult the guy, but he makes it extremely difficult. I agree, everyone's got their own taste- but have you listened to those Tiffany songs? I mean, cringe-worthy is a polite term to use for them. But I'm from a different, non-American Idol era. I actually like and respect artists more who write and sing their own material, with the exception of a few all-time greats like Aretha Franklin (and I think Aretha at least wrote some on her own).

You know, I had no idea how exhilarating throwing poo around in the internet was! Now that I've gotten a taste, I think I'm going to follow around "WHEN" and keep this new found feeling!

Pop music had a much longer shelf life back then so I was probably hearing more Madonna and Lauper, Janet Jackson, Whitney Houston and maybe like B-52s, Taylor Dane, Jane Child, O'Connor, Edie Brickell, and then of course Paula Abdul just exploded in '88 - 89. Also The Judds and Reba were probably at their peak that time so used to hear a lot of that being on the ship channel. I think there was some episode of Full House where Joey was babysitting the kids, but they were being unruly and Danny walked in right when they were singing "Think We're Alone Now," that's literally the only Tiffany or Debbie Gibson I actually heard growing up.
