I'm really tired of this debate. What it comes down to is without Battier, Memphis went from 5th best in the west to last in the west. Not saying that was all Battier, but you can't deny he was missed on the team. Other than losing Gasol for the first month of the season they really didn't lose anyone else of importance and they GAINED Swift and Gay, yet they dropped that far in one year. Plus, people are missing the fact that we got to dump Swifts contract in the process. Swift didn't start on the worst team in the west. We were fortunate to drop that 5+ million dollar contract and actually get a decent player out of the deal. In fact, if you look at all the contracts on the Rockets, Tmac is really the only player I think is getting paid more than he's worth. You could argue Mike James too I suppose.
