You're right. Often they bring up guys just to let them get a taste of the clubhouse, game atmosphere, that sort of thing. They may only get a bit of game action. Sometimes they pull up guys to fill specific roles (like a VV or Appel in the pen, a PR, or Hoes as an option against LHP, that sort of thing).

Only reason I think they might bring up a 3rd catcher is for emergencies and to allow more leeway in DH/PHing Conger.

Angels 9 and 9 started with an unexpected loss, 0 and 1

Very tough day for the Angels yesterday, and great for the Astros. Tonight they have a very tough game in KC, ouch

Angels won last night, big win for them, now 1 and 1 (prediction was 9 and 9).

KC bullpen implode last night. Before i gave that series 3 to 1 for KC, now is looking like a split, but still on pace for that .500 record.

Well, we Are 5 and 3 so far. I said 10 and 6 so we are going toward that number. I expected a 9 and 7 but winning at San Francisco would give us a 10 and 6. For that we need to win this coming series.

The will probably bring up Stassi as an emergency catcher. Conger might serve some as a DH because of it. I don't expect Stassi to play much.

Villar will probably be up because his speed is so valuable.

I think they will bring back Grossman & Hoes just because the have MLB experience, but maybe not until after AAA season is over.

I'd think they would call up Feliz.

Wouldn't shock me to also see them add Buchanan, Woj, Straily, Obie, and Chapman once their seasons end because they all have MLB experience and what does it hurt to have more pitchers available?

If we have bullets at no cost, why not use them? I'd only expect Feliz & Villar to play meaningful roles in September (plus whoever Fields might replace on the roster).

The sweep helped big time, so the prediction right now is going very good, 8 and 3. Still 7 games left, all on the road except 1.

So, lets go for .500 on the road, that would give us a 11 and 6 and the Seattle game at home, so we could go 12 and 6, That would be 1 game over best case scenario.

Rangers will play Toronto, so they should lose some games there. Also, a tough series vs Baltimore. The 6 games are at home, but they are not easy game. If they go .500, then we really can have a strong lead going into september.

Texas will play two 4 game series, those are always difficult to win. One of the series is with the Astros, the other one Mariners.

I think we need to focus a little bit more on this team, and not the Angels.

We should win the division but definitely in the wildcard with the Yankees.

This month will be so important. Throughout the year, the nay-Sayers have been thinking the Astros would come down to Earth. But the Astros have stayed steady, and were able to retake 1st place from the Angles rather quickly.

Astros are in a good position for a September run of good baseball.

The Astros have 31 games left. And if they were to go 15 and 16, that would give them a record of 87 - 75..... Which would have them sniffing the playoffs.

But the Astros are in a position to take the playoff spot and go with it. Now will a relatively young team be able weather the furious charge that Texas, Minnesota, and the Angels are going to run at them!!!!
