TONIGHTS GAME IS A MUST WIN SITUATION FOR BOTH TEAMS HISTORY HAS SHOWN THAT GAME THREE WINNER USUALLY WINS THE SERIES. SAN ANTONIO HAS A LOT OF CAP ROOM NEXT YEAR AND WHEN THEY BEAT THE LAKERS THEY WILL BECOME THE TEAM TO BEAT THE NEXT FEW YEARS.

I wonder if you are a Spurs fan. As for your question, the team will be good but not a dynasty. There are too many up and coming teams that will keep that from happening.

I Agree, the Spurs are a dynasty in the making. Of course, Spurs will have to wait till Shaq retires or father time takes his toll on him.

As for the 5th game, I think Spurs will win it. Here are the reasons:

    1) Refs - playing on homecourt, they should get the benifit of the calls. But you never know when playing against the Lakers, maybe they will get the more favorable calls.

Did you really think there were going to be more reasons?

If all calls were 100 percent correct, Spurs should win 80 percent of the time; however, when you play the Lakers you never know what to expect.

The top five most poorly officiated playoff games in NBA history:

    5. 2000 NBA Finals, Game 6: LA Lakers 116, Indiana Pacers 111. Officials were pro-Lakers.

    4. 2002 NBA Western Conference finals, Game 6: LA Lakers 106, Sacramento Kings 102. Officials were pro-Lakers.

    3. 2000 NBA Western Conference finals, Game 7: LA Lakers 89, Portland Trailblazers 84. Officials were pro-Lakers.

    2. 1988 NBA Finals, Game 6: LA Lakers 103, Detroit Pistons 102. Officials were pro-Lakers.

    1. 2003 NBA Western Conference first round, Game 3: Minnesota Timberwolves 114, Los Angeles Lakers 110. Officials were pro-Lakers.

Sometimes, it is good to be a large-market team with influence.

If the Lakers lose tonight, it will be tough for them to win the series. But if the Spurs lose tonight, it will be nearly impossible for them to win the series.

If the Spurs lose the series, then "Coach of the Year" Gregg Popovich deserves to be fired. Winning 60 games a year in the regular season doesn't excuse the way the Spurs inevitably collapse in the playoffs.

And every year the Spurs don't make the finals, the asterisk next to their title, won during the anomalous strike-shortened season, gets bigger and bigger.

Like trepidation said, it all comes down to the refs. That's why I get sick of watching the NBA sometimes, because the refs get so biased sometimes you just wanna throw up. Especially in Lakers games that are as important as this one.

I realize the Spurs have a boatload of cap money this summer, but the Kings still have a pretty deep team.

So all of the worst officiated playoff games in history involve the Lakers? And 4 out of the 5 you listed took place in the last 4 years. Hmmm...sounds like someone here isn't being very objective.

Worst officiated games is an interesting topic, though. Does anyone with knowledge of the game in the 60's and 70's know of older games that were officiated in favor of one team?

That seems like a great one for ESPN.

does this game beat the Oilers and Bills if the Lakers win?

    I can't even fathom this.
