Would be a nice backup to Harden. That's about it.

NBAdraft.net currently has him going 24th. I really don't think he'll be much more than a backup in the NBA though. Is he any better than Jerryd Bayless was in college? Poor man's Kemba is his ceiling.

Bradley Beal was definitely overhyped and Shabazz is underhyped. I can't believe this guy isn't getting the credit he deserves after what he's displayed consistently throughout the tournament. He may not have the best measurements, but he has been the best player in the tournament.

That's because you don't understand how NBA scouts evaluate players. They don't look only at a player's collegiate accomplishments or accolades. Their job is to determine how well a player's abilities translate to success at the NBA level. Nothing about Shabazz Napier convinces me he'll be anything other than a bench player in the NBA.

Scottie Reynolds had a terrific college career too.

Bradley Beal was a classic draft 'mistake'. At 6' 3.25" without shoes, Beal is an undersized 2-guard similar to recent 'mistakes' like O.J. Mayo, Dion Waiters and Austin Rivers. He makes Rudy Gay look like the king of efficiency. Some of Beal's stats are horrific:

    1. 17.0 ppg on 15.9 FGA, 41% FG%.
    2. 41% 2-point FG% (dead last or near-dead last among all non-point guards)
    3. 15.9 FGA vs 2.5 FTA ratio.

Napier will go in the late 1st round, even with his awesome run in the tourney, NBA teams dont like little point guards these days. The days of the 6 ft 0 pg are over and Napier looks 5 ft 10. Russell Westbrook, John Wall, Jeremy Lin, are the body type that the NBA wants 6 ft 3.

That being said Napier will probably end up a key contributor for a Playoff team so it will work out well for him. Portland, Phx, Brooklyn are destinations I believe he will end up.

Remember guys, this is the same guy that said rockets should trade for Jan Vesely, and that they should get Josh Howard because he can be a 20 ppg player.

Napier's 40% shooting from 3 over the last 2 seasons, combined with his ball-handling and defensive skills will leave him very capable of manning a backup guard spot adequately. What you don't understand is that performance outweighs measurements. What criteria are you using for your evaluations if not his performance? A bunch of he-say she-say bologna hype from workouts and measurements. That's how you end up with Darko Milicic.

    Player 1

    17 PPG
    3.3 AST
    3.7 REB
    .413 FG%
    .405 3PT%

    Player 2

    12.2 PPG
    2.1 AST
    3.1 REB
    .436 FG%
    .349 3PT%

Player one is Bradley Beal's 2nd year in the NBA. Player 2 is James Harden's 2nd year in the NBA. So quick to label someone a bust are we? Not to mention he even had a good year anyway.

LOL! The 12.2 ppg was on 8.3 FGAs in 2/3's the minutes (Excellent) while the 17 ppg was on 15.9 FGAs (His TS% is less than every current Rocket!) . Beal doesn't get fouled often. He's still young and has promise, but his shot selection is horrible. Beal shoots almost as many long 2's as the entire Rockets team.

I like Napier. He seems like an irrational confidence guy, except he can do other things besides shoot. He's a better shooter than Kemba so I don't think he'll reach that level of chucking. Idk where he'll go in the draft. I think it depends on who stays or leaves early. Wouldn't be surprised if he gets picked late lotto/mid first round.

I also wouldn't be surprised if he goes 2nd round.

There are no PG's projected to be in the lottery, unless you count Marcus Smart and Dante Exum as PG's. Other than that, the only PG that could be drafted ahead of him is Tyler Ennis.

Who the heck isn't counting Smart and Exum as PG's??

Obviously the tourney performance will help his stock, but as an NBA PG I don't see much from him other than an energy guy off the bench. Good for teams in the 20's who aren't shooting for the stars

I see them as combo guards if anything, and leaning more towards SG.

That's a very disingenuous way of comparing both players.

that's why you watch games and look at advanced stats and put stats into context instead of randomly cherry pick numbers to fit your argument.
