Yes!!!!!!!!!!!! Take melo from NY please. Take his ball hogging and add to Harden's ball hogging. The drama will be more exciting than watching the actual games. Will gladly accept asik and lin for melo.

But they could still sign players for the vet min. Ex Fransico Garcia with us.

Instead the Knick have to get 1. Overpay players. 2. Players who wouldn't get PT anywhere else. 3. Related to JR Smith

On the plus side, under McHale a Harden/Howard/Melo iso offense is less predictable than a Harden/Howard iso offense.

A great espn insider article summed it up best about Melo...."he needs 4 tyson chandlers around him to mask his defensive deficiencies"........."he's definitely more of a robin than batman on a championship contending team"

    1) The Knicks won't trade him

    2) If by some freak chance they DID trade him, it would be to a team with better assets (for a rebuild) than the Rockets

    3) Melo would be a bad fit on this team as a ball-dominant player who doesn't play much D

    Not so fast...

    1. If Melo isn't going to re-sign, they have no choice. Just ask Denver...
    2. Care to name those teams that Melo would be willing to sign a multi-year contract?
    3. Not disputing that, but then you don't turn down upper echelon players for role players due to fit. You either make it fit, or trade them for another Star level player later.

The worst possible duo in the league would be Melo and Harden.

The Lakers? The Knicks aren't trading Melo without getting a 2014 lottery pick back and we don't have one to offer.

Lottery pick is great and all, but what players are they sending back? They're both over the salary cap AND over the Apron. IE, they *must* take back equal or less salary than they send out, AND they are NOT allowed to do sign and trades.

So how exactly do you intend to match up the salaries?

And do you really think that the Knicks would trade Melo for just ONE 1st round pick and no players of note? Unless you think they'll take Gasol for Melo plus a 1st round pick (which is looking like a middle pick right now).

There is really only ONE practical way that the Lakers get Melo and that's wait until Free Agency next year or trade for him next year.

How about you just use the assets and cap space for the other star level player who will fit without destroying the team chemistry?

Because star level players just don't appear on the trade radar every day.

You can rule out a whole list of them that aren't coming to Houston any time soon. LBJ, Wade, Paul George, CP3, Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, LMA, Kobe, Durant, Rose, Westbrook, etc, etc.

When you look at top 10-20 players, they really don't become available all that often, and even less often when you factor in cap space and tradable assets. The nice thing about locking in a top 20 player is you can nearly *always* trade them to another team for other assets or even another star player if they don't end up fitting.

It's just that people don't trade them very often.

I stopped reading the rest of this post here.

Melo and Harden have similar strengths. They can both score. Neither one of them are great defenders. Harden, IMO, is more efficient because he drives and gets more free throws. Melo has more size which may give him more versatility as far as his position, maybe?

However, Harden is younger and makes almost 8 million less than Carmelo.

I like Harden more than Melo, but I can understand the debate between the two. However, when you take into account their age and their contracts I really think it is no contest.

Its funny how people don't think Dwight, Melo, and Harden would co-exists, the same thing was said about Lebron, Wade, and Bosh.. All i'm saying is if u have a chance to get superstar talent u do it..

On another note, people been calling Harden a ball hog lately, when he has clearly been more of a play-maker this year, if U haven't seen Harden as a willing passer this year, u haven't been watching Rockets games, only time's he's been a chuck-er is when he's trying to get the 2 for 1, or taking the last shot of the quarter

Get Melo now, flip him for Durant in the Future

Yu know why this won't work? All three superstars are not leaders. They would butt heads possibly.

Melo and cp3 will work better just because cp3 seems to be a leader type to control melo

I am the biggest component of acquiring talent but in this particular case I would have to say NO.

We need a legitimate low post presence. I would give up the farm for a guy like Aldridge.
