No! It would be to money tied up at the QB.

Romo instantly puts you into the conversation for a superbowl if Watt is healthy. Right now they might make the playoffs, but how far can u really go with an anemic offense. The good news is the AFC doesn't really have any dominating QB once Brady retires. so you could gamble on Osweiler, but realistically, I think you have to hit the go button on a real qb now and Romo qualifies.

    1. He's too injury prone; he would not survive behind our o line
2.too much money would then be allocated at the QB position
    3. With him due to his age, he would only be bandaid to our QB problems
    4. Don't know what the cowboys would ask for in terms of trade compensation

Helps when you can control the clock and your defense doesn't have to be out there so much

Why would you say that? The Cowboys have had tremendous talent around Romo, and they haven't made it to the Super Bowl. Call it team, call it chemistry, call it bad luck with injuries - but they aren't in Super Bowl contention by simply adding Romo.

I think you're "mis-remembering" things... The Texans didn't have an opportunity to trade for Manning, and they certainly didn't pick Schaub over him. Schaub was traded to Oakland after the 2013 season. There was a rumor in early 2015 that the Broncos and Texans *talked* about a Manning trade, but the talks never went further than that. This situation, is nothing like that situation, because there never really was a that situation.

Romo will be 37 before the 2017 season starts. Couple that with the steady decline in passing productivity since 2012 (although touchdowns have been fairly steady), and you have a recipe for dead money. The Texans don't need more QB related dead money.

Manning was interested in coming to the Texans as a free agent & they passed. @Hoothrewpoo

Only the Texans would pass on one QB (Hall of Famer Manning).... and then decide to pay the BACK UP 72 million dollars.

    What a ******* joke of a franchise

Manning would've been great but Big Daddy wouldn't even attempt to get his mind around it....typical.

    And Hell no to Romo.

Then still complain about the NFL being a QB league and still needing a QB.

Par for the course for a McNair run franchise.

Texans playbook = Blow smoke up their fans butts and take home as much cash as possible. This has been happening for a decade and a half and counting.

I'd have to say it merely incompetence, not something nefarious.

15 seasons in the league and The Texans are still trying to find a bonafide franchise QB

Well, amidst all of the gleeping about the Cows on Dallas sports talk radio today, the consensus is that the asking price for Tony Romo should be two no. 1 picks - that's T W O no. 1 picks...For a 36 yr old QB who hasn't played a game in a whole year because he keeps getting hurt. Sooo, that's all folks!
