The team doesn’t rely on foul calls, it’s simply players being fouled and not being called. In the past, Harden might have tried to get fouls on the sweep shooting mechanic, but he doesn’t do that anymore because his step back has been deadly.
So harden now needs to shoot less? Who needs to shoot more? And fyi 35 pts on 28 shots Kd 35 pts on 25 shots Klay 13 pts on 13 shots
Rip into the officiating all you want but we've seen a consistent theme of poor shooting percentages from Harden in his entire playoffs career at the Rockets.
Can you imagine if you went to the local gym and some guy got under you each time you took a jump shot? You'd probably want to fight the guy. It's ****ing dangerous. You're deliberately trying to hurt me so a punch being thrown would kind of be justified because you're purposely hurting me. That's what happened yesterday afternoon. And you want to attack Harden over this? You must be the type of guy that would get under a jump shooter in a pickup game.
Shots are going to be more tightly contested in the playoffs. Harden is so focused on turning the defense’s tight contests into fouls, and we all know the refs allow defenses to get away with more physicality in the playoffs. Harden’s scoring efficiency is so foul shot dependent. David Robinson and Karl Malone were other guys who come to mind that relied a lot on foul shots in the regular season and who struggled comparatively in the playoffs.
It's either you are smoking something or you don't know basketball. It's not about the call that matters in this case, it's what the non-calls do to the psychic of the shooter who has to constantly think of being injured in that kind of atmosphere. Everyone talks about James harden's inefficiency. I don't know why the narrative also change when it comes to him. I bet you are one of those who's drinking KD's cool-aid for being the greatest shooter ever because he scored 35 points in 25 shot attempts last night. And to you, that's efficient. Do you also realize that Harden also scored 35 points in 23 shot attempts last night, albeit, he missed quite some shots in the game, but that was atrocious shooting - - lacks efficiency - - because he was James Harden. You don't have to like the man, but you owe it to yourself to, at least, be truthful. No one is asking the referees to make calls that is unjust - - even Harden admitted that as much in his presser - - the call here is for fairness. Call it for both sides. The last time I check, what is good for the goose, should also be good for the ganders. The league, and/or the referees in this case, should not favor one team over the other. That kills fandom. if you don't know basketball at least you can read; in the last year, particularly, in the last playoffs and the first game this year, the referees have favored the Golden State Warriors 9-1 in calls made. 9-1; let that sink in. That's not an aberration, that's a glaring advantage for the Warriors, in a competitive sport.
