My guess is the Celtics trade for Westbrook. Yes they have an incumbent PG, but Westbrook is a tier or two above, and the Celtics have a whole bag full of draft picks and stashes for OKC's rebuild.
Certainly possible. That said, if you read the tea leaves, put together with what you know about Westbrook's character, I think the more likely scenario is Westbrook told KD he had nothing set in stone, but obviously wasn't going to sign an extension, just like KD hadn't, and would want to do just what KD is doing. Because it sounds like KD and Russ did NOT have a very long conversation. KD alluded to something in the press conference like "I'll talk more to him later"... meaning the conversation probably went something like Call #1 KD: Russ, you going to stay in OKC Russ: Not sure, nothing set in stone KD: Ok, bye Call #2 KD: Russ, I'm leaving Russ: Ok KD: Going to GSW Russ: Ok, best of luck, bye ... lol
I hope we can aquire Westbrook but if we can't I hope he leaves to the Lakers. Hopefully Harden doesn't want to follow him but in the event he did want to, I'd ask for Ingram.
If there was a time that Sacramento should go all in it would be now. They have everything to gain even if Westbrook is a FA next year. Collison Cauley-Stein Marquese Chriss 1st Rounder Fillers For Westbrook

Going to be interesting to see how Sam Presti navigates these waters. I mean, he is going to HAVE to get some commitment from Westbrook. There is no way Presti can afford to let Westbrook leave for nothing. And I am not sure Presti can wait until the February trade deadline. My guess is Presti will make a decision as late as October....much like the decision of Harden at that time.
So with the Harden extension this puts the ball in Westbrooks court. Do you want to be the face of the franchise or not? If I am Presti I tell Russ,"What the did with Harden I want to do with you". If he says no you trade him. Its a simple as that. Westbrook leaves for nothing OKC only has them selves to blame.

It's easier to trade him if he renegotiates for more years. Presti may actually be begging him to do it. But if WB wants the freedom to move, the $10m more for next year isn't much to walk away from.
