If CP3 ditches the Rockets, no big FA's sign, and Capela isn't matched...

without cp3 we are a 55 win team. capela, ariza, luc, and green will all be kept.

we would spend the MLE on a second ball handler like tyreke evans, or isaiah thomas and we'd be a 60 win team. still probably lose in the WCF to the warriors.

no reason to blow it all up if cp3 leaves.

That's not even true lol. Harden was without a sidekick for a couple years and led us to be "over achievers." He is a transcendent talent. MVP player. Legit superstar. Top 3 player in the league. Can pass. Can shoot. Can dribble. We would still be a top 4 seed in the west.

DM’s strategy was all about asset accumulation.

In a worst case scenario I assume he returns to that mindset while the team treads water a bit. How? TBD. But that’s his best skill to be honest.

Which is the problem. Harden leading this team isn't going to get us where we want to be. He can't lead a team down a one way street. But he sure can dribble.

a bunch of early exits in the playoffs is what you're satisfied with? Bc that's what harden is without a star next to him

We had some unfortunate things happen before/during the playoffs, Luc injured, CP3 injured, we got absolutely zero from our $20 mln man Ryno. We had the Warriors dead to rights, so let's roll this squad back and update our offense creating more motion for the Warriors to think about instead of just isolating Curry on D.

It's dumb AF. The Rockets are a premier destination. Our time is now.

i do think CP3 stays, but why wouldn't he just sign the deal now??? is there a reason to wait.
If reports are true about the Super Max.. why not signed it now and let everyone know hes on board

I've convinced myself CP3 is gone to LA with Bron. That way if he stays with or without LeBron here, i'll be happy for next year rolling with or without the same team that we had this season another year older which i would be otherwise very pessimistic about if i was convinced CP3 was never leaving and i know there's not much room to upgrade the roster.

The power of positive thinking over here.

I'll play though. If CP3 really wants to play with Lebron in LA they better send Ingram here. If I'm Morey I tell CP3 he ain't going nowhere unless the Lakers play ball.

Still 100% confused. Players CAN or CAN NOT be sign and traded? It seems everyone says something differently yet for the past few years CAN'T was all i ever read or heard from friends.

Morey will leave us to write musicals. Harden will lose his Euro step in a pole dancing accident. The Suns will max Gerald Green. Zhou Qi will get fat.

That wouldn't work since CP3 has all of the power as a FA. If LA uses up their cap space on LeBron and PG, CP3 could sign for a minimum contract if he wanted to(but he won't).
