Yeah it's ridiculous. I will say that most mortgage companies will work with you. Mine already sent me a notice (even though I'm not a government employee) to let me know they can suspend payments if I'm affected by the shutdown.

The reality is that the vast majority of Americans, even Americans who make decent money shockingly, live paycheck to paycheck. It's startling to millionaires and billionaires to hear this, but the studies have proven that most Americans couldn't afford a $500 emergency expense. Now you are asking them go without paychecks?

 

Yeah, its the same rulebook they used for natural disasters like Hurricane Harvey, but this disaster isn't natural. My mortgage company gave me a forbearance for Harvey and I could suspend payments for 6 months with no late fees and no lump payment expected. But, the debt continued to collect interest, which is a distress cost. I appreciate the banks 'working with people' to get through the disaster, but politicians should not convince themselves that their workers will be made whole in the long run. The timing of cash flows matters.

 

That's such a head-shaker. Trump was backing down until Coulter un-friended him or un-followed him and bashed him, Limbaugh the same.

I wouldn’t be at all surprised if Miller or Coulter are trying to make him change his mind and that’s the reason for this delay.

 

Apparently if he doesn’t like a deal after 3 weeks he’ll then declare an emergency.

 

Suspect it will be that much harder to shut down again. trump will need to find another way to get his wall...
