Think about it, up 3-1 and Curry out 2 weeks. They'll throw one game and take their chances with winning 1 out of 2 and give Curry a few extra days to heal before the second round.

But if they win they still have some down time because the Clippers/Blazers series still has at least 2 games left.....

the basketball gods graced us with a beautiful gift, curry's injury, and we can't even take advantage of that.

Aren't Clippers/Blazers guaranteed to go at least 6 already?

It's very hard to tank against the rockets. We look like we are playing to tank all the time.

They don't have to, they had to before cp and Griffin went down but as they sit they can beat the clips in 5 or 6 without Currt

    Huh?

The second round for Golden state will begin Sunday if the clips/Blazers series ends in 6, or the second round will begin next Tuesday for them if the clips/Blazers series go 7.

The Warriors playing more games in the first round has no effect on currys rest and in fact will be more taxing for the other players that have to pick up the slack for him not playing.

Extend the series so one player can get "extra" rest while risking the rest of the team to injury?

Nah, they're gonna finish this thing off. Rockets gone fishin'.

OP writes for GSW's PR dept. That's what they'll have the media say when we beat the Warriors..."Oh, they wanted to lose. Think about it."

This is the definition of playing with fire.

Yeah the Rockets suck but the last thing you want to do is send that team home with the idea of "We just need to win one home game and anything can happen in game 7."

They are going to come out for the kill Game 5. Hope the Rockets are prepared.

I think scheduling has been set, right? Like if the 1 and 4 seed both swept their first round matchup, wouldn't their second round game be scheduled as if the series went 7. That's why teams that sweep get that extra rest, no matter the condition of the other series that they'd play the victor of. Can anybody confirm this?

For the most part, yes. I dont think the playoff schedule has been set in stone, but if all four teams sweep 4-0 in a conference, the next round wont start immediately. I dont think i've ever seen the next round start before the previous was not complete.

However its all irrelevant. Portland/Clipper series will still be going on even if GSW throws this game. It makes absolutely no sense for GSW to extended the first round unnecessarily.

A team doesn't become top seed by doing ignorant tactics such as this. Portland/Clippers (with no Paul/Griffen) are less of a threat than Houston.
