To the folks here who consider him "Purest scorer in the league"....

About 40% FG on a whole buncha shots (and I mean BUNCHA) and about 1 Assists per game this post season.

    I salute the consistent chucker.

He is trash. I never wanted this guy on my Knicks but the Knicks love chasing fraud superstars like Melo and Amare. This fraud has always been trash in the playoffs. His playoff averages are pathetic and he plays no defense and is a crappy playmaker.

Morey tried to get them both as well. Thankfully they went elsewhere. You can always count on the Knicks.

All he can do is shoot. With the attention he gets he should be averaging way more assists.

he is talented like a mofo but that shot selection. I liked him in game x where he took everything to the hole. Soft player, Jr smith is their true franchise player.

They have Melo and mini Melo in JR Smith.. Shows how completely trash the Eastern Conference is the fact Knicks won 50+ games.

The best perimeter defender in the NBA was guarding him.

    Chucks like nobody's business. :p

    Indiana series (alone)
    10-28 1 ast
    13-26 3 ast
    6-16 1 ast
    9-23 1 ast
    12-28 0 ast
    15-29 2 ast

I guess he does rebound, so there's that.

The good news: Carmelo & J.R. always have the green light
The bad news: Carmelo & J.R. always have the green light

It doesn't matter. Look at his career averages in the playoffs. They are abysmal. He made it to the WCF with a stacked team in a weak year. Not exactly impressed by his pitiful playoff resume. Always had good-great teams and he has never really done anything or had any great runs.

Was he guarding his assist numbers as well?

This isn't about just one playoff series.

Melo got the spotlight he loves, surrounded by coaches and teammates that he likes. Hope he likes fishing too.

very few players can do that tho. Lebron, wade, Kobe, dirk, are the only players recently that I can remember carrying a team through the playoffs.

Fact, Carmelo has had more playoff success than Chris Paul.

That has nothing to do with his individual performance. It was strictly team success. He has always been a sucky playoff performer that had much good teams. Also Kobe has never carried a team in the playoffs. Name me one season where he did that. He has always had a crap load of help.

Compare CP3's numbers in the postseason vs Melo's and its laughable. Melo is trash.

Compare T-Mac to Melo for example. T-mac was 2x the player Melo was but never had nearly as much help. That is why he never got out of the 1st round.

I'm glad this guy was on my fantasy team, but just strictly based on his performance in this year's playoffs, I would be shocked that he was ever in serious contention for MVP.
