And mda calling timely timeouts. You know actually coaching.

Everyone needs to learn from this.

Everyone starting from the coach needs to their jobs. Coach, knock down shots, compete, defend, share the ball, rebound, etc...

    MDA?

its not just about offensive rating... it doesnt matter if you score more - if you allow the other team to score even more... thats math, too... and when guys are involved on the offensive end of the court then they are more engaged on the defensive end... imo... ;) lol

Lol I guess Tucker Faried and Capela all having double digit rebounds and players actually hitting their shots had nothing to do with it.

Right, I agree, and I mentioned that in my post - if you want to argue that guys who are involved play better defense, that's fair. But that's not what people were saying. I saw at least 20 posts talking about how much better our offense looked without Harden, and that's just not the case.

This THREAD nails it......look at Jordan's years...who hit the big shots? Kerr, Paxson, Kukoc.....role players.....look at Hakeem - Horry, Maxwell, K. Smith......

Trusting your teamates in crunch leads to a better overall team - and Harden can still score 30, just move the ball faster, and push it....like last year....our pace this year is ....YUCK.

And we have people that can run....use em.

Quite simply this team doesn’t have enough time together with CP3 and Capela in the lineup. Harden absolutely had to dominate to keep us afloat and his teammates got a little too comfortable with him doing everything. Harden has to dial it back, which is what he wants to do, and his teammates have to find the confidence to hit shots.

Chris Paul has looked better and better. If we can somehow retain a full roster, it’s within the realm of possibility that this team is as good as last years team by the time the playoffs start.

Did anybody see the difference in this game??? Late in the game where we need every bucket we can get.

I am not a Harden hater, I defend him each and every day honestly, but this game could have had a totally different result....

I think it is in our team’s DNA to shoot threes without fear and with little mindfulness of game situation. Even this game, I was cursing at the TV when we took an unnecessary contested 3 in transition in the last few minutes rather than eat up as much shot clock as possible.

He really only tried to dribble out the clock at the end of the game.

James Harden playing or not playing has nothing to do with Tucker and Green actually hitting open 3s. Tucker seems to play well against the Warriors since it's personal.

More importantly, the coaches made a big adjustment in the starting lineup (Faried inserted at PF, Tucker moved down to SF) that had nothing to do with Harden's absence. Before we'd start Rivers at the 2 and Gordon at the 3 but this time we went BIGGER -- a clear adjustment to our nightmare defensive rebounding issues, and that paid off big time.

The offense started to choke as they've done in these other blown games. The difference this time is our defense/rebounding was a little better because we had more size and length in the front court. We didn't gift wrap all these bonus possessions to Golden State the way we did to the Lakers, Thunder, Wolves, etc.

With Harden being a good rebounder, we'll be even better on the boards with his return.

All those games we've lost to teams missing their star players -- AD, Gobert -- I was disgusted and mystified. Somehow it never occurred to me that the solution was for us to play without our star.

He was dribbling all game and he still went into ISO’s down the stretch.

You can’t get 23 points and 17 assist without dribbling the ball.

You can get 17 assist without guys making shots.

The only think I will say was a positive without harden was cp3 taking care of the ball and not turning the ball as much as harden.
