Rick would at least make our offense look better, while keeping the defense about the same. However, Howard would never accept becoming a big man passing from the top of the key and Harden would never accept moving off the ball so he would be far from the best coach for this team.
Rick left at the right time. We wouldn't have any more titles with him than with McHale, and arguably wouldn't have the stars we do given how much of a players' coach (or at least stars' coach) McHale seems to be. The guy drives me nuts but for whatever reason NBA guys want to play for him. That said I do think Rick could get more wins out of this current roster than McHale is able to. So I miss him a little.
This is way too much of a general statement. Maybe you should add a percentage for evidence purposes. In any given situation some people will agree and some won't. Saying that Clutchfans are "never" happy with the coach is not true. I loved Rick, I felt that Jeff's offense was non existent and I feel that Mchale is simply a cheerleader in a monkey suit. The Rockets where overall respected by the league and media coaching wise while he was coach, this is not true for Mchale. Mchale is not only disliked by a large number of people on Clucthfans coaching wise(He is a good person) but he has been ranked at the bottom for a coaching by the league and media since and before he came to Houston. The fallacy here is that because some people didn't like Adeleman and some didn't like Van Gundy that everyone who dislikes Mchales coaching should be dismissed because Clutchfans "Never" likes its coach. Adeleman and Van Gundy regardless of their flaws are respected as overall good coaches. Whether or not Clutchfans always or never likes its coach has no bearing on whether or not that coach is actually a good coach. It is without a doubt that Mchale is not a good coach something that was documented long before he became the Rockets head coach. I suspect the only reason why this head scratch er of a coaching choice became the Rockets head coach was because he could be Morey's yes man.
He did well in the playoffs if you just consider baskeball a team game..... just have a superstar above him. Yao should have been the No. 1 but he was not the better scoring option than Tracy. Both injury prone and got beat by the Jazz.

JVG was never going to get Kobe. Kobe's window of exodus was late 2006-07 before Gasol fell to LA JVG was about to be gone What JVG needed was Yao,Rasheed Wallace, Battier, Ray Allen, Billups to have some success, surround him with tough guys and shooters
