LW has the 13th highest Offensive Real Plus/Minus.... surrounded by players like Cousins(11th) Durant(12) Conely (14) Lillard (15)
^^^ which begs the question. Considering our limited trade pieces and roster fit. Is LW the single best player the Rockets could have realistically HOPED to get?
Yup, loved him since Toronto days and so happy we got him. Never watched him to be honest and quite surprised at his handle, quick release and just knack for the game. He's our Jamal Crawford and it feels so good to have two dead-eye shooters like that, something the Clippers and Warriors have had for years. Also, how crazy is it that he was told to just shoot it and in his first game delivers this way? 4th highest scoring in his debut as a Rocket, behind Lloyd, Thorpe and Harden.
Yes, considering we were able to unload Brewer too which made it that much more special, I believe LW is the most perfect trade acquisition for a contender that I can remember in recent years. Not to mention that he has another year on a very reasonable salary so I believe Morey and Harden feel like they hit a goldmine on this one.
The awesome thing about Lou is; he is shooting near 39% which is remarkable, but he has been hitting contested shots. In LA he was the only player who could essentially create space and make jump shots that were contested, and defense was zoned in on him... we saw that with the confidence with which he took and made first two shots.. I cant imagine once he gets integrated and starts actually taking and making open corner shots.. Harden is the best passer in the league and now having Ryan, Ariza, Pat, EGO and Lou.. and to certain degree Dekker... this will be ridiculous and fun to watch..
Yes, IMO. He's more durable than injury-prone guys like Gallo, and cost us very little. Other than Wilson Chandler and Gallo, who were we hoping to get?
Also I loved seeing that picture perfect pass Lou made in Q3 to Capela for a lob dunk which is identical to Harden.. If Lou starts doing this on consistent basis.. Capela will be averaging 15 ppg for the rest of the season.
Hey I'm all in on the Rockets this year, as I've been saying from the beginning of the season that this team was a scrappy bunch. Beating the Rockets will be difficult. It would be foolish to think that y'all own the grizzlies though. The grizzlies are a very experienced team. Also I have not been kind to the Rockets over the years with my assessment of the team, so if I'm saying I think they are good, it means something.
Look at how much he impacted the young guys in LA. Pretty cool, I was expecting a great scorer but didn't know he was such a good locker room presence.
So, so, so amazing. And in his first speaking as a rocket he said that team succes is most important and that he thought that EG is leading for the sixth man of the year.
Hitting 52% on corner 3's, most of which were contested, I could see that % going up 3-5% with Harden opening things up for the uncontested shots Brewer consistently missed.
Too bad the Rockets don't play in the morning because Lou is napalm... Some love it in the morning, I hear.
