I know it's controversial but it has to be said. Chris Paul is better than James Harden

Hell yeah. CP3 made the Rockets great again. I can watch a full game without getting so pissed off at careless turnovers and bad defense.

This is extreme, but I do have way more confidence in this team with an alpha-dog on the roster.

I can already tell this board is going to be ****ing annoying this season with this whole Harden v Paul thing that's slowly been brewing ever since the trade. Only on Clutchfans would **** like this happen.

It's Yao vs T-Mac all over again.

We need to be a team. Stop being divisive. I thought that **** was over once Jerry Lin and his stans left.

exactly! I think we should never compare two Rockets's players, because it may destroy chemistry between them, when one of them will start to think he has to prove something and subconsciously will start to wish his teammate bad.

That's how cancer is born. It should be killed as fast as possible.

Please start a thread like "10 reasons why CP3 (or JH) is better than Russel Westbrook" I would love to read that and i believe there are more than 10.

Players should not log into CF and know what we think in the first place, Mr. Kogut!

The Harden no defence meme was born solely because of the whole Lin vs Harden saga on this very board. And it could be argued it indirectly cost him 2 MVPs & an All-NBA selection.

I know ESPN & the media are dying to pit Harden & CP3 against one another to get another Shaq/Kobe or Kyrie/Bron situation.

Ego, Luc, Tucker, and Nene should all see significant time off the bench

its partly the media and partly our fans, funny how we never see this with the fans of the astros of correa only fans and springer only fans... or with the texans of watt only fans being jealous of dw4 only fans

Stop being delusional. I don't who Corrolla is but JJ Fatt should never be used in any comparison to James Harden

get this through your head. James Harden, the number #1 athlete in Houston is way better than your Fatt was, is or will ever be

Just wait and see how the new 'Harden rule' impacts James this season. As someone has mentioned earlier in this thread, Harden has regressed a lot in terms of offensive variety and shot making ability. Now that he won't get all those easy calls from the refs, he has to score the ball the normal way like any other player in this league, and I'm worried that Harden may turn out to be not as great as we think he is. He's still very good, but if Harden's three is not falling, I'm not sure what makes him one of the best offensive players in this league anymore.

Relative to CP3, Harden is more explosive but also way more inconsistent and prone to having one of those horrible performances. CP3 is definitely more reliable, stable, and just better player all-around.

You're kidding, right? Harden is the quickest player in the league in terms of stopping power and changing directions, with some of the tightest handles in the league. The rule will just force Harden into being more creative on the offensive end. You've seen him dazzle Rubio, Exum and the likes...

Are you sure brah? If Harden could consistently do that without having to rely on the refs, he already would have, but as good as Harden is in all of the domains you've just mentioned, those things don't always 'work', especially against elite defenders. Harden struggled mightily against Roberson last season, and San Antonio's elite team defense almost came close to shutting him down in the playoffs. Because Harden doesn't have the athleticism of Westbrook or most of other superstars, he had to develop various nifty little tricks and moves to get by his defenders, which work fine most of the time, but I don't think they are as unstoppable as we sometimes think.

I don't understand how it is that CP3 could be better than Harden... we've had countless threads about where in the top 5 Harden is in the league... accompanied by fanboy posters who criticize others as having 'a low bball iq' if he's not declared to be in the top 2 or 3 - if not #1.... and Chris Paul typically wasn't even in the discussion.... lol

I know Harden led the league in assist last year and the NBA is evolving, but Chris Paul is being compared to all time great point guards like Jason Kidd and John Stockton do we really need anymore facts than that. Chris Paul is the best point guard to ever put on a Rockets uniform! He may not have done the most for the Rockets, but he is the most talented point guard in Rockets history. Also James Harden is a shooting guard and we need to come to that fact. The quicker we do the better the discussions and as well as the team will be. The system helped his assist count as it also would with other unselfish shooting guards like TMAC, whom is also better decision maker than James Harden. Where you see the difference is in the turnover count. Example first preseason game Harden 10 assist 7 turnovers, Paul 7 assist 0 turnovers.

Is he a better overall player, historically in my opinion yes he is. Right now it's close, he is more reliable from the neck up for sure; but may not have the engine to play a full productive season like Harden does. The good news for us is that they both on our team and they need each other to win.
