Has anyone thought that a possible reason for Ariza's struggles is the distraction the Tmac situation is causing. Consider that Tracy plays the same exact position as Ariza... same for Budinger. If you notice, Chase's performance before his injury wasn't great either... last three games: total 8 points, 2-10 FGM-A. Adelman did state that inserting Tracy back in the lineup would be difficult because other players are used to having their own minutes. Ariza been inconsistent all year, but especially recently, he's been playing really poorly. Could it be because of the Tmac distraction?
I think its the minutes and the quality of the shots. McGrady has not been subbing in for Ariza, so I don't see why that should impact him.
you cant compare a player without including money just wanted to rate another trevor bashing thread though
i'm not trying to bash ariza. i really like ariza and i think he can and has been contributing a lot to this team. i'm just critiquing certain aspects of his game that he hasn't been doing very well.
please don't say ariza is a proven champion. plug in any average small forward on that lakers team and they still win the title. give them battier and the magic don't even touch them. ariza was a role player with one of the easiest jobs in the league, he may have been on the championship roster but he certainly was not a deciding factor in their victory.
Tmac apologists? Ariza supporters? What's a guy like me to do who wants Tmac gone and would trade Ariza for a bag of chips?
This guy needs to put more time in the gym, horrible free throw shooter and jump shooter... He's a good set shooter, and needs Brooks to create for him. He feels he needs to tale charge, but he doesn't realize that he his hurting the team with all these missed shots. You can blame him for all our great offensive rebounds!
Even though he made clutch steals and clutch 3 pointers? I'm sure any average small forward could do that.
tmac's FG% this year has nothing to do with ariza's poor FG% so let's not bring that into the discussion.
