It was one thing when JJ was taking minutes from green ( even though I thought that was a bad decision ... I could still understand wanting to try and work JJ in )

If he's taking minutes from Ryan now , that's pure lunacy .

There is no way he's better than Ryan . Ryan has been playing well lately ... And somehow is even a better defensive player . And obviously I'd rather have Ryan offensively . Ryan's got a turnaround jumper from the post that is money ...

Gerald played good D today. Blocked a McCollum three pointer and stifled him on another mid range jumper. Also skied over Ed Davis for a crucial rebound on a free throw miss in the 4th quarter.

That may be partially true, but at some point he is actually going to have to make shots.

Joe Johnson fouls Lillard on a 3pt shot.

Gerald Green blocks McCollum on a 3 pt shot.

Joe gets a steal on Lilliard during a run.

I'm glad MDA took him out though.

He needs to plant his feet if he's holding a guy down for a screen.

Felt like Green finally passed him in the rotation tonight. Joe's great injury insurance. I want more Green and more Anderson too. When we shoot 3's we pull away. When we go away from that, we struggle a little. With Tucker starting our second unit is rife with 3 point specialists and they're not ever all going to go cold in the same game. I favor some quick minutes for Green and Anderson (along with Gordon) early to see if they're hitting. If they are I favor riding them. Anderson has a bad contract but he's not worthless. And he's worth a lot more to us this summer if he gets his stroke going and gets his value up.

I am worried about Coach phasing Ryno out of 4th quarter minutes. I think he can come up big in 4th quarters in playoff games

Anderson needs to take some of jj mins period. As much as I like consistency bb iq from jj, Anderson needs more mins for the amount he is paid. Gg mins should depend on the momentum of the team, he's an emotional player and is too streaky for my taste.

Is something wrong with Nene, or are we just resting him?

When we play guys like Adams or Nurkic, were gonna need some physicality out there. This constant teeny ball isn't gonna work all the time.

I don't think there's anything wrong with Nene healthwise. I also don't think it's a coincidence that he's logged 3 consecutive DNP-CDs since Ryno returned from injury. First, D'Antoni needs to get Anderson back into the lineup and in playing shape. Second, D'Antoni really likes the small lineup with Tucker(and now occasionally Ryno) at the center position. Third, D'Antoni is saving Nene for the postseason and not risking injury after what happened last year.

I do agree that it's absurd for Joe Johnson to continue to get meaningful minutes if this roster is fully healthy. Hopefully he starts to get phased out of the rotation in favor of Ryno and Green as we get closer to the playoffs.

At least Joe Johnson got a steal last night and then dished it to Gerald Green for a 3 lol

Yep. Ryan's not getting minutes at power forward anymore. He's only gotten minutes at center since he came back and it seems like that's how MDA intends to use him in the playoffs.

Nene and (hopefully a healthy) Wright for different looks when we need serious rim protection while Capela sits.

No coincidence the entire energy changed when green came in.

TRUTH. It's the same in any game he gets to play in. It's past time to find him minutes in our playoff rotation. And our biggest problem to me lately (though I can't complain about anything) is that we're taking less 3's. This team relies on volume 3 point shooting. That means Green over Johnson every day and twice on Sunday.

Just a guess. Teams will over play defense of the 3-point line in the playoffs.
Rockets will need to drive upon receiving kickout from CP3 & Harden.

I’m a big fan of Gerald Green. But I would like to see Joe Johnson on video vs these playoff bound teams.
Last night vs Portland I saw no attempts of Joe in the post. Maybe Portland is too switchable and too athletic??
Then so be it. Last night D’Antoni put in Green....I criticized D’Antoni for not doing the same in Toronto.
See how the opposition defends Joe in the post.

If the Warriors are too athletic as well, then again we found out in these final 20 games or so. Thus Joe
probably won’t get any playing time in the playoffs. We all know what Gerald can do....that’s not a concern to
me in the playoffs. We will come ready to play and bring energy. If Joe can bring a half court game we need(ed)
    to find out.

There is a possibility Joe is helping Harden and CP3 with post ups as a mentor. I say this because D’Antoni
seems to be runnng more post ups for Harden and CP3. New sets. This would be a plus....not a negative.
Morey/D’Antoni/Bzdelik are experimenting with every type of lineup imaginable with this time. Not for winning
games now as much as for real time play in the playoffs. They should/will put the best players out there
in hopefully the best situations as it calls for. The playoffs are about adjustments. Knowing the extent for
    your players abilities is important.

Green is showing good defense out there despite the DNP he has experienced the past month.
Thank you for being a great Rockets fan.......Go Rockets!!

y’all should be shifting all this anger towards JJ at D’antoni for continuing to play him...he should recognize how bad he’s been since he has front row seats every night

I don’t hate JJ, he’s a bit more washed than I expected, but Father Time is undefeated and D’antoni needs to stop force feeding him minutes

MDA is playing with fire at this point JJ has been asbolutely useless on the floor and he's playing over Capela. The pistons were literally trying to give this game back and he kept rejecting their offer. I can't remember correctly but didn't even have him in for the jump ball...what kind of obsession is this????

this is some risky **** and will cost the rockets big.
