It depends. The Rockets are unbeatable when they collectively play as a team. Minus Harden and Howard, that's quite a bit of length and veteran players on that list. It just didn't work out.

Harden's job is to score. Everyone (outside Houston) knows he is one of the laziest and worst defenders in recent history. Harden does his job.
