Poor Abreu. Can’t even get credited with a hit when he deserved it.

Abreu couldn't even bat .069 for giggles.

I wonder if he’s getting anything he doesn’t deserve.

    Rangers just DFAd Jared Walsh

He has Kd quite a bit so far this year but his other numbers, especially expected numbers are pretty interesting and light years better than Abreu.

    Just saying.

.063 Avg on Jose Abreu Baseball Card

Jose Abreu Rookie Card worth must be going down.

Jose Abreu is basically Chandler Parsons on the Mavericks no knee Cartilage, can't bend his knees, Joints messed up Jose Abreu shaking his hand after hitting a Fly Ball for his Only RBI of the Season.

Astros Owners forcing Jose Abreu to play is hurting the Team. Joey Loperfido is really needed in the Lineup.

Jon Singleton maybe get sent down.

Jose Abreu I think should be released and get his mind cleared elsewhere. Move to Miami and go to the Miami Clinic boost with the LeBron James Juice.

Rangers really have a no nonsense Approach. Astros are stuck with a Negative Contract.

Astros Owner learned their lesson, pay your own guys not other Old Players from Outside the Organization.

Crane scared that Abreu would have a revival elsewhere like Carlos Gomez... after he got released... batting .284 with .905 OPS the same year.

I don't really care what he would bring to a different club. What matters is what he brings to the Astros.

And that has no effect on astros, even if he’s hitting .300 and 30 bombs rest of the season with another team. But that’s not gonna happen. He’s not a young player that all the sudden struggled and can’t hit and play defense. Been going one since we signed him. If you look at the back of his baseball card from last year and this year stats, it will tell you that he’s washed up.

I can sort of understand why you want to keep playing Abreu. You paid him so much money, guaranteed, and you truly do look at the back of the card and think “this can’t be the same guy.” But, he’s 37. Can we really expect some sort of resurgence? His game has fallen off the cliff and I don’t think there’s a rope long enough to recover it.

This has to be the worst signing of all time.
I was so stoked when we signed him too.

If that happened, hopefully it would be with an NL club. He could follow Yuli's footsteps and go to the Marlins

-1.4 WAR in 65 PA, that is impressively terrible in all aspects of baseball.

It's particularly infuriating because we are losing so many close games. If he gave us anything we probably have 3 more wins.

I never was thrilled with Abreu signing. I always thought and still think it was a betrayal and a slap in the face to Yuli.

I loved the move at the time, but now none of us do. That said, Yuli was worse than him last year.

As much as I love Yuli and hope he returns in some capacity when he hangs up his glove, it was time to let him go.

    In 2023, 45 players were mostly 1B and got 300+ PA. Abreu was 38th w/ an 86 wRC+. Yuli was 43rd w/ a 77.

What I don't understand is why so many fans are upset the Astros let Yuli walk but are practically kicking Alex out the door.
