OK, since you are so tuned into statistics, I will play along on stats ALONE, and ignore all other factors in the game. I will also ingore and1 and tech foul shots because they are really insignificant.

Let's calculate their efficiency in offensive possession
PTS / (FGA + FTA/2 + TOV)

Harden: 26.3/(19.2 + 11/2 + 4.5) = 0.901
KMart: 13.7/(11.5 + 4.2/2 + 1.2) = 0.926

Statistically speaking, they are both very insufficient in scoring. Harden is actually worse than KMart in this series. He also shot BELOW team average in FG% and 3P%. If the leading scorer is insufficient, team will lose more than they win. That's just the way it works.

Lastly, Harden is a far better player than KMart and this is NOT a debate about them. This is only based on statistics on this series and this series only.

 

The problem is that Kevin Martin is nowhere near the scoring leader and has his shots created for him. Your statistic you posted clearly show that Harden is by far the superior player. He also shot better than Kmart.

Kmart had more open shots.

Yeah definitely think you're right on this one.. oh wait how many points did Durant score again? How about that one guy.. the that replaced Russell Westbrook? Reggie Jackson? Oh right almost a triple double got it. Serge Ibaka too? No way that team almost sounds wait for it... Still better than our team the way it currently is.

If Harden had continued to produce we might have pulled out the game but we were missing our starting PG (Lin if some people can recall) more so for consistency then anything else and we still don't have a legit PF that can compliment Asik. Oh right we don't have a back up center either.

Martin actually did very well for OKC this season, but it's sad to see our first option as 3rd option on other teams.
