OK, now you're just pulling stuff out of your ass.

Necessary to throw him to the ground in a chokehold to arrest him, when he poses *no threat* and is unarmed? On suspicion of selling loose cigarettes?

    Yeah, sure.

9 times out of 10 I defend the police on this BBS, and get tons of crap for it, but this is indefensible, warrior-cop nonsense.

He was a lot bigger than them and he was resisting arrest, getting him to the ground was the only way they could complete the arrest. I'm not "pulling stuff out of my ass", I'm quoting the actual laws on the books. Him being a threat is irrelevant because they didn't use "deadly force" even though he ended up dying. I know that sounds funny, but that's how it is. Had they shot him, him not attacking them would be relevant.

Those are the words that make it not a crime. Notice it never says "but you can't use chokeholds"

Stop and frisk has now turned to choke and kill. I thought the northeast was some sort of bastion of utopian liberalism.

True enough. Giddy logic is only rivaled by Bobby logic.

What does everybody think about the multiracial grand jury?

Were they racist in their decision?

I'm sure we'll hear about how the prosecutor was biased or racist or whatever.

Did the suspect/deceased have a criminal background?

From what I've heard, nothing violent, but he did have some petty stuff on there, like what they were trying to arrest him for. He wasn't a violent criminal like Brown, he just made the mistake of resisting arrest and he was really really fat and had asthma so a routine arrest turned into a fatal accident.

I didn't peg you as a supporter of the 10th amendment center. Interesting.

It's truly a sad state of affairs when you can't murder your own race without getting the death penalty.

From what I heard, he had been arrested 31 times and was out on parole at the time. Apparently he was selling non taxed cigarettes, which is a major crime in socialist NY.

Like clockwork, the character assassination of the dead guy begins because it's relevant to being choked to death on a sidewalk in broad daylight.

Like clockwork, the defensive matter of some of you have regarding some dead guy that was resisting arrest begins because it's irrelevant that he was breaking the law(thanks to liberal policies) on a sidewalk in broad daylight.

He wasn't "choked to death", that's nothing but ridiculous rhetoric that is indefensible. He was a fat guy who foolishly resisted arrest and tragically died when the cops took him to the ground to cuff him. The take down caused unforeseeable health complications due to him being morbidly obese along with having asthma and a heart condition.

Comments suggesting that this was "murder" or saying that he was "choked to death" are counter productive because the facts simply don't support those conclusions.
