Actually it's Nash's defense that is on another tier, at least statistically. Much inferior defender.

Dirk, Harden and Curry's career defense stats are pretty much similar, but Curry did improve on his D this season.

In no way do i expect Harden to reach some elite defensive level but im praying that the next coach that comes in has a hand in getting him to reach at the very least a respectable level. its just sad how bad it is right now.

Wow, didn't realize Nash was such as horrible defender.

Much worse than Dirk, Harden or Curry

All other teams with good record have at least two or three all-star caliber players on their roster. This team has only one, and even last year it was one. 'Nuff said.

Yep, I said this last year too.

Every other team has multiple all-stars on it and we have one.

I said All-star caliber, not exactly those who were named all stars.

Portland have Lillard/McCollum and Clippers have CP3, Blake and DJ.

Dallas is just not a good team.

We have nobody besides Harden, Dwight is no where near close all star level these days.

Did you consider Dallas a contender?

The Clippers have CP3 and Blake and DJ, who as of right now is better than Dwight as a third option

Portland has a stud in Lillard and CJ is actually more consistent and more dangerous than any other player the Rockets have.

Griffin was injured all year, and DJ is very similar to Dwight.

I don't think any of them are contenders, but that wasn't the question.

Blake still played 35 games, almost half the regular season. And DJ is way better than Dwight at this point. Just superior in every way.

A grown ass man like Harden doesn't and SHOULDN'T need a coach to motivate him with effort in defense. If you're leader needs that kind of motivation, you're screwed.

35 games isn't almost half the regular season. And those 35 games also include the 5 games where he was on a minutes restriction.

I think Dwight is still a highly effective player, but his effectiveness is correlated to his happiness. This year, he feuded with Harden and was the scapegoat for Houston's disappointing season. If he leaves, I expect him to have a much better season next year.

    exactly.

drive and motivation come only from within.

which is why Dwight getting sulky for not getting enough touches and playing lethargically has been such a cancer to this team

Yeah this year he was...I was talking 'contenders/playoff teams' in general, not only this year.

And while DJ and Dwight are similar - DJ is more consistent and at this point slightly better than Dwight, both offensively and defensively. Also don't forget that the Clippers have sharp shooters (something the Rockets are missing) like JJ Redick (45%+ from 3 I believe). The Clippers have one of the best backcourts in the league (while not an all-star level player, a super consistent sharp shooting role player)

of course i definitely agree. If you are truly a great player this shouldn't be the case but unfortunately this is what it has come down to. I've made it known that im skeptical as is that some huge change is coming from him, thats why i said pray haha

and that's why Dwight's gotta go. him getting all sulky and playing unmotivated really screwed this team up this season.

the fact that d12 sucks, or that any other player sucks, doesnt negate the point i was trying to make.

"oh that boy george, he's bad."
"but but but,,, so is harry."
    "so you point is?"

I wasn't trying to negate your point. I was making additional point.
