When I was kid there were few things I couldn't stand. The sight of them just grossed me out and the taste.....yuck, but now I love them. For some reason I would not touch cheese cake as a kid but now I have to use caution around it because I might just eat the whole thing. I also hated blue cheese up til a couple of weeks ago. A friend was having a few over and he made some hot wing pizzas with blue cheese crumbled over it. I took a bite and at first I didn't know what to think so I took another and I was hooked. Today for dinner I grilled a burger and I topped it with bacon, mushrooms and some blue cheese. It was amazing. I can't believe I've been missing out on this stuff for so long. Anyone have any recipes that involves blue cheese? Also what are some things you hated but now like?
Indian food -- I used to think it really stunk. It does leave a strong odor in the room, but it tastes pretty awesome
There was a time I took a bite of an avocado and thought it was flavorless. I now can eat a whole mean with just avocado, not even guacamole and chips, just three avocado and some salt.
Sashimi is the main one I can think of, couldn't even fathom eating it during high school or before. and blue cheese is STILL gross
The Black Eyed Peas. I hated this group . . . now. . . I don't hate them. Don't love em .. but don't hate them .. . . Most of their songs are FUNGUS award winners [they grew on me . . . 60 times a day rotation will do that to you] oh . . and broccoli Rocket River
Pickles, asparagus, Tabasco sauce, beer, playing the piano, girls. Things I hated, recently tried, and still hate: Blue cheese, mustard, olives, Dr. Pepper, champagne, any fish that isn't tuna, Dylan Gwinn.
I wouldn't eat hamburgers for a long time. I had to get used to them gradually, starting with just meat and bun and then later adding in the pickles, tomatoes, onions, and lettuce one at a time.
