Sure, it was wrong, but some decisions you live with being wrong based on the information and thought-process you had at the time. In a vacuum, it's a no brainer to take Peyton Manning over Matt Schaub any day. You can choose to live in a world of absolutes, but there were plenty of factors that went into the idea of wanting to keep Schaub over Peyton, and none of those included the idea that Schaub was anywhere near as good or gave us a better chance to win as a healthy Peyton Manning.

Yes, it's how I debate in real life with people who can't just swallow their pride and admit that they were wrong. It annoys me to no end that the people who were wrong as can be now have the gall to simply chalk it up to "hindsight".

I did know all along that a team with a super bowl-caliber roster, but a QB with no chance of leading them anywhere would be taking a no-brainer of risk by ditching said QB for even a 25% chance at having possibly the GOAT qb behind center. In my eyes, it was a no-brainer at the time, and common sense. There is no hindsight involved on my end - only on the end of those who were oblivious at the time, and can't simply admit that they were wrong.

Ditching Tim Tebow was nowhere near the risk that ditching Matt Schaub was. In fact, just by contract numbers alone, since Tebow was still on his rookie contract, Denver was able to offer Manning a sizeable deal without having to re-shuffle their existing players. The Texans weren't in that same position due to the fact that Schaub had been extended the previous season. Denver's situation was completely different from ours, and they were the beneficiaries of it.

There's no such thing as risk when you're a team running in circles with no shot at contending for a title.

That's what is/was somehow lost on you and countless others.

And it's Peyton effing Manning as the player in question here. You have to be next-level risk averse to prefer sticking with Matt Schaub over the shot at a once-in-a-lifetime QB, even if Peyton was coming into the season with a prosthetic leg.

If it was such a sure thing that manning would be awesome, don't you think 28 teams would have lined up for his services? You're delusional.

The Broncos had Tim Tebow and a crap load of cap space. Their risk was absolutely minimal. The Texans were in a completely different place. There was about a 50/50 chance Peyton would have recovered like he did...if that number was 90%, sure, fire away and make that push. However, that was far from reality, not sure what dream world you're living in.

This debate is so dumb because your arguments are absolutely asinine.

If he wins a Super Bowl for us, then yes he can come.

You might get one more season out of Manning but as much as I love the guy, he is not our answer moving forward. If he is not done, the writing is on the wall.
I would only take him if he was inexpensive and if we can retain Mallett as well.

Yeah, it was basically a coin flip in that nobody would know for sure. The Broncos took a gamble and it worked out in their favor. It could have just as easily gone the opposite direction. However, they were coming from Tim Tebow, so no major risk involved. You clearly don't know what you're talking about.

You're sitting here laughing at others, when in reality, your posts are full of nonsense. And everyone here has seen it.

Just saying, but we were beating the Superbowl champs 17-3 at halftime during our horrible season and the #1 reason we lost was because of Matt Slob not being able to put up any damn points besides a single fg. QB was the #1 difference maker in that situation. Would we have won the game with manning? I think so.

Is our offensive line good enough for manning?
