I agree that the segment is annoying and stupid but he seems like a nice guy I hope he does well or they give him something better to do.
Agree, to most knowledgeable Rockets fans (or at least those that watch alot), hearing random Tweets or whatever doesn't exactly excite or interest us, but I have a feeling that he did not design this segment. My guess is that he is being asked to try to bring in the casual fan (or the significant others of fans) to watch more games. Those of us that want to watch all the games anyway will watch no matter what--we are not the target audience.
"I've also been called Ho Chen. Or Ho Chizzle. Or Ho Diggity. Or just a Ho. Your choice." It's hard to be as annoyed by the guy after reading this.
To do what?! He reads twitters written by 12 year olds on TV for crying out loud. Give the man something meaningful to do. Les got a token Asian dude, with 3 foreheads, to do hold a meaningless 10 second on TV to further appease the Asian community.
I don't think he's provided one piece of valuable insight/information in the game or on his twitter. He's pretty useless.
His position alone, not him, is ****ing stupid... sorry, can't sugarcoat it. It's the pandering that bothers me. Slick young Asian-American guy reading tweets on the air... very nice, Comcast.
Didn't see him in any of the preseason game broadcasts so far. So who's gonna read the tweets for us the coming season?
Hopefully, they've scrapped that. I haven't seen Howard Chen in any of the preseason broadcasts. I think they maybe replaced him with a young lady.
He answered fan questions on Youtube and talked about his background, including growing up as a Rockets fan and gave some love to CFs. <iframe width="590" height="345" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/K1MidaR1Ows" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
We should just put Ho Chen's face at the bottom of the screen with Scrolling twitter text posts. And just try to capture random hot chicks in the stands on screen. Saves broadcasting money, and kill two birds with one stone!
