Love the idea of someone other than Tyson Chandler guarding Howard in the post.....DH will either score or grab offensive rebounds.

No way RC puts Dirk at the five.

The only thing keeping them in the game was Tyson Chandler and his 18 rebs/offensive boards.

All we would have to do is run a zone, then crush them on our end.

The simplest solution: don't let Harden touch the ball and let someone else make the plays to drive to the rim. We don't have anyone that can abuse the PnR as well as Harden.

There were times last night that our offense struggled when Howard was out and Harden was being denied the ball. Because of the burden on Harden, there is a tendency for him to not to be active in getting the ball.

Monta Ellis was pretty terrible too. Chemistry issues have really hampered the mavs. I hope they keep it up.

I agree that our game will be tough for Dallas to counter, but keep in mind they can win games against us, simply by us not having a good shooting night.

We've seen it many times in the reg season where the likes of Ariza/Brewer/Terry can't find the middle of the ring.

We had a great game 1, but keep in mind our role players were really hot the entire game. First Ariza, then later Brewer, and JET for most of the game. This won't happen every game.

If Dallas keep trying to shut down Harden, there will be a game or 2 they can win, simply form the roleplayers having an off night. It happens. I hope they go the opposite and shut down the role players and let Harden get his. If this happens, I think we can sweep since Harden is always going to have a good game when left alone.

Either way, we can't take this series lightly. We are easy favourites, but there are holes. I'm especially worried about the DH and Capela fouls and the refs taking them out of the game. You could really see every comeback Dallas made was when Dwight was taken out.

Our mission should be to counter Dallas' counter. RC will be working very hard to come up with a strategy against us. Since we won first, we will probably try to continue what we're doing without thinking about what Dallas' counter punch is.

Either way, I'm really excited and think we should win this series easily, but we've been far in front in the past against Dallas and they've come back to beat us. So we have to keep working hard and not take this for granted.

    PLAY HARD AND ADVANCE!

ONE DAY...George W. Bush and his cronies will find those infamous weapons of mass destruction. They will be buried somewhere DEEP in the Iraqi desert, right next to Tracy McGradys heart, and Dirk Nowitzkis pick and roll defense.

Gotta hope that the "role players" continue to play well at home in this series as is usually the case in the playoffs. What we really need is a win tomorrow night and then hope someone can step up in Dallas to support Harden/Howard. IMO, that's where the veteran experience will really come into play.

Hoping the guys come out and take care of business tomorrow. Would be HUGE!

    Go Rockets!!

Zone is the most effective against Pick and roll but the NBA players are so athletic you cant run zone for the whole game..while it works for stretches of minutes at a time if you played zone against any NBA offense all game you would either get killed from the three or murdered in the paint.
