Well, nothing to do now and my son still asleep so here is my way of getting the Lebron/CB/DW trio w/o touching Yao/AB.

    1. 3-way trade with Raptors/Magic:
Rockets sent: Scola (SnT, starting 8M, BYC so 4M out)+Andersen+JJ
    Magic sent: Gortat+2011 1st round+2013 1st round
    Raptors sent: CB SnT

Why Magic do it: They are looking for a PF, and Scola is the best PF they can get, 2 1st round pick is a fair price.
Why Raptors do it: They get a true C so Bargnani can play PF. 2 1st round pick and expiring contracts in Andersen and JJ.

If Magic doesn't want to part with the 2 picks, they can somehow take Turkoglu back from Raptor.

    2. Ariza+Battier+2 NY picks+Budinger for Lebron SnT.
No one can beat this offer, maybe we can even keep Budinger. Battier bought out and signed back.

    3. KM+Hayes+2013 pick (or Budinger if we keep it from Lebron's deal) for Wade SnT.
either Wade goes to Chicago w/o Bosh and Lebron in 5 year deal, or comes to Houston to play with both and a 6 year deal. Maimi gets KM and Hayes and a 2013 pick or nothing if Wade just walks away. You know what Pat Riley will choose.

We still keep our own 2012 1st round pick so it is doable.

    our roster
    Yao/Hill/Brad Miller(2 year exception)
    CB/PPT/
    Lebron/Battier
    DW/JT
    AB/KL
we still have full MLE to use.

Man, I am day dreaming but in Morey we trust!!!

we can't trade scola as part of a package after he signs...

why does toronto want the magic's first round picks, which are surely to be in the 20s, possibly late 20s? They get a back up center, borderline starter in Gortat and two late round picks for bosh? They can do a lot better.

The lebron deal is too risky for Cleveland. if NY does decently they'll end up getting some ok role players out of the picks and another in bud....for lebron you should be able to get at least a young talent...so again, they can do better

I dont think we can afford lowry in this scenario and we will lose brooks soon

They also get over 9 million dollars in expiring contracts. Thats not too terrible of a deal for them.

I say we should aim lower and go for 2 of them to pair with Yao.

Better chance that we get Wade over LBJ, so the two players should be Bosh and Wade.

Im sure a combo of 2011 and 2012 Knicks picks, Andersen, Kevin Martin, JJ, Ariza, Hayes, Buddinger, and Hill can get it done.

Get Brad Miller in and you have...

    Lineup:
    AB/Lowry
    Wade/Taylor
    Battier
    Bosh/Scola
    Yao/Miller

Fill in the remaining 3 spots.

Without cap room, I don't think Rockets has much change to land big name free agent.

It is more likely when a team signed big name player and does not work out, then that is Rockets chance to do a mid season trade.

    Way to aim low. ;)

That said, I do believe that IF Bosh signs with Houston before Lebron/Wade ink their contracts, then absolutely we do have a chance to add one of that. But the "IF" here is so big it may as well be a pipe dream in of itself, since Bosh to Houston is likely contingent upon other offers falling apart.

I especially enjoyed how we get Bosh and the Magic get Scola, yet you have the Magic giving up better assets than us in that transaction.

Cool Stuff, it has a solid base to it for sure, but someone did make a point on why the Magic would'nt just try to work a sign & trade with the raptors(but there's a chance the raps wouldnt want bosh to stay in the eastern conference. NOT BAD.
