They were the only team to take the Heat to at least 3 games in the playoffs last year, and Ray Allen didn't contribute much.

Now they've reloaded with Sullinger and Melo? And also signed Terry who can do more than catch-and-shoot Allen?

They're plenty scary. Garnett needs to show his intensity in the upcoming playoffs that he showed in 2012, and Rondo needs to be THE man though, for the Celtics to be the EC champs.

KG will fall off a cliff, Pierce can't get it done against Lebron. Depth is overrated, especially come playoff time. 2nd round exit.

    Don't be surprised...........

if Sullinger challenges Pierce for leading scorer on that team.

Rondo is certainly tough, and has had great flashes, but I don't think Rondo can carry this team to the finals, and that's no knock on him, few players can.

I think everyone here grossly overestimates Sullinger and Melo. Nice pickups, sure. But there's a reason they were picked so late. They're not going to dramatically change the team. Plus, Garnett and Pierce have nearly two decades of wear and tear. This could be the year their age stands out.

I'm not expecting much from Fob Melo but if Sullinger's back holds up he does dramatically improve the team. The Celtics biggest weak spot was the 4 spot. Sullinger is NBA ready and he will be able to contribute immediately.

They go as far as Rondo takes them.

Lee/JT will prove better than a washed up RayRay from last year.

Their stars have gotten a year older and they've added a 35 year old bench player. Lulz, they will get beat by Miami again just like last year and the year before. Keep dreamin' son.

Well, with Rondo you can never expect little from that team. It felt like he averaged 30/10/10 in the playoffs. Dude was killin' it. Plays so much with fire.

Best gamble of the draft other than MKG getting picked at 2
MJ must of looked at past drafts n thinks MKG will turn into Paul or Dwade
Rather than going gamble on another bigggg in thompson, or Drummond

how is this team any better than the 2011 and 2012 teams that got better than Miami?

Terry is a solid pickup but doesn't defend like Allen does. Lee is a solid SG/SF to come off the bench. Sullinger is definitely rock solid. Still no shot blocking inside or a lengthy SG/SF type or pure SG/SF defender off the bench that can play multiple positions and help defend Lebron or Wade

They basically got better but not enough to beat the Heat. They wouldn't even made it to the ECF if Rose was healthy
