Are you assuming that he'd be restricted or unrestricted? Will he be subject to the Gilbert Arenas rule?

He'll probably wind up with four years $35,000,000. He'll be the first Morey-draft pick that Morey actually keeps and pays. They've all fallen through that trap door that opens beneath their feet when Morey yells "Moreyball!" (his own personal "The Clapper"):

Ron Artest (not a draft pick, but we gave up two first rounders for him): "I led this team to the 2nd round without Tmac and no Yao! 9 million a year, 4 years! I'm worth it!"
Morey: "You also make Delonte West look like the poster child for sanity! See ya! MOREYBALL!"
    (trap door)
Ron: "I know where you liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii...................."

Carl Landry: "8 million a year!"
Morey: "You're a 6'7" power forward who was already 23 when drafted! You already reached your potential! MOREYBALL!"
    (trap door)
Carl: "I even took a bullet while heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeereeee......."

Aaron Brooks: "10 million a year! Djoo see how I raked Porland and the Lakers over the coals?"
Morey: "You're a 5'10" shooting guard! Who do you think you're talking to? I'M MOE GREENE! MOREYBALL!"
    (trap door)
    Aaron: "Motherfuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu............"

    Kyle Lowry: "I'm vastly underpaid!"
Morey: "Thank you, Cleveland offer sheet! But 'SEE YA' anyway! MOREYBALL!"
    (trap door)
Kyle: (falls but holds onto floor where trap door has opened) "HA! I heard about this s***! Nice try!"
Morey: (presses buzzer) Chandler, could you come in here, please?
Parsons: (enters) You rang, your Billy Beane-ness?
Morey: Stomp that f**** out, would you?
Parsons: Gee, I don't know, I kinda like Kyle.
Morey: Either stomp him out or I'll pay him the money I was gonna give you and I'll ship you to Charlotte for the #2 pick in the draft. I might do that anyway, why aren't they calling back?
Parsons: (to Kyle) Sorry, sucker. (stomps fingers)
    Kyle: (falls) White boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.................!

Ppat: Hey, Daryl, I'm getting pretty good, hunh?
Morey: For which I thank you from the bottom of my cold, cynical heart! Hey, do you like California?
Ppat: Well, sure. I mean, NO!
    Morey: MOREYBALL!
    (trap door)
Ppat: Ah, did I fall for thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa..........

Marcus: Look, I heard you were gonna trade me. I just don't wanna go out like a punk. (looks at floor beneath feet)
Markieff: (enters) Hey, bro, it's okay, you're gonna be with me.
    Marcus: Markieff! Hey! (they hug)
    Morey: You guys ready?
    Marcus/Markieff: READY!
    Morey: MOREYBALL!
    (trap door)
    Marcus: WHOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO..................
Markieff: THIS IS OFF THE CHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIII............

The biggest bargain in the NBA is Lebron James. But Parsons could be 2nd.

The sad part about all this is you know how Morey lowballs the 2nd round picks despite how good they are.

    Remember the whole Landry ordeal?

So is Michael Beasley. Batum is good but your are drastically overrating him. He is a slasher, same as Parsons.

People keep saying this, but let's see if the numbers back it up:

    Player A:
    15.3ppg, 5.9rpg, 4.9apg, .426 FG%, .365 3P%, .568 TS%, 16.5 PER

    Player B:
    15.1ppg, 5.5rpg, 3.7apg, .484 FG%, .379 3P%, .581 TS%, 15.2 PER

    ___

Player A is Batum, Player B is Parsons.

Looks like they're actually pretty close, to me. I think Batum is better defensively this season and he is a better passer, but Parsons has been a more efficient scorer.

Batum has a slight edge, but he is not "miles" better than Parsons. And I'd definitely rather have Parsons when you factor in Batum being paid $11M per season.

In that ESPN podcast with Zach Lowe, Morey says Parsons did bring up his compensation. Talked about the possibility of waiving him and redoing the contract. Morey said it was too risky in case another team claimed him. Dude wants to get paid!

i would rather have Parsons at 900,000k as well. But ive seen Batum change games againist the Rockets this year with steals and blocks. But Parsons has shown flashes of being a good defender and im glad he's a Rocket

Actually I would say Harden or any other superstar on a rookie scale contract has the best deal.

    And deserves it.

Might have to wait another year or so to make that dough-re-mi.

I agree with your last paragraph & have been thinking about this for some time now. I feel like Parsons benefits from thew defensive attention that teams pay on harden & Lin. He doesn't create his own shots others create it for him. That is why I don't think Parsons has all star or star potential. Unless he learns how to create his own shot he will always be just a terrific role player. Now the one thing that Parsons has going for him is that he can run the PNR.

I do disagree though, 5-6 million is too little. I think he can get 8-10 million.
