For the second most minutes played by a Rocket, great bang for the buck but everything else is terribly overrated here.
I must say that those are interesting stats. But, I don't know how you can go wrong with a SF who shoots 47% and 37% (3-pt), get you 14 points, 6 rebounds, and almost 3.5 assists per game. I'd rather have the points from Parson who shoots 47% than Toney Duglas who shoots 39% from the field. Parson's defense was good last year, he just needs to get used to the increased playing time. He can be an above average defender consistently. Plus he's got a good baseketball IQ.
Yeah the poster who compared him to Scottie Pippen was onto something. You would think that his ceiling would be lower than Pippen's but really at this point it seems like the main reason we don't believe it could be possible is b/c he was a 2nd rounder. At some point we have to get over that and realize that the guy can play, and that we should set our expectations of him based on what we see him doing right now on the court.
Scottie Pippen was an elite defender. If Parsons can get to his level in defense, that would make him an all-star. He'd be like our Paul George.
