Yeah I see him as a T.Prince with a 3pt shot. If he can consistently influence both ends of the floor he'll definitely get much better. Thing is though he's asked to contribute so much on offense he can't be as effective on the defensive end.
Players usually become what they will be as NBA players in year 3. He is already pretty good, but I think the area where he will get better is his defense, as he learns the nuances of opposing offenses and is better able to predict tendencies. Getting up to 40% 3 point shooting would be gravy too.
...and then he made us all pancakes. Charlie Murphy should have been the famous(er) brother...dude is hilarious.
Tayshaun Prince has a wingspan and reach ala Kevn Durant. At his peak Parsons could never be that player defensively without those physical attributes. That plus a lack of raw power is also why Parsons can't be a post player offensively or defensively.
I think he's going to put up Jalen Rose numbers with better D. He hasn't even come close to his ceiling. Give him another year to develop a post game and more of a consistent jumper and it's on. <script type="text/javascript" src="http://widgets.sports-reference.com/wg.fcgi?css=1&site=bbr&url=%2Fplayers%2Fr%2Froseja01.html&div=div_per_game"></script>
That's a pretty good comparison as far as the passing and rebounding is concerned, but Schrempf was an even better passer, rebounder, shooter and defender while Parsons is quicker, has more hops and is therefore better suited to a run and gun style.
- Slightly improved defense from rookie season - 40% shooting from three - Add 10-15 pounds Would be worth pretty close to the FA max already.
I don't think teams will be as eager to throw out max dollars to borderline all stars under the current CBA. Plus, he plays the deepest position in the NBA so there are not going to be as many teams beating down his door with big dollars like there would be if he played center or shooting guard.
That'd be insane, he'd become my favorite Rocket because of how hard he'd have to work to make that happen. Remember how bad his FT's were just last year?
Last season people said he couldn't shoot ft....now 75%...people said he couldn't shoot....now shooting 47% and like 38% from deep...don't underestimate his work habit and drive to get better. He will continue to improve, and he is such a smart player who will make the right decisions to win games. People constantly have labeled him tprince, Ariza, battier, horry etc...this guy is better than or will be better than them. I see him down the line being a top 10sf, possibly top 5. People can doubt him but he will continue to prove them wrong
I think there is still room to grow....he needs to be more aggressive on the offense. I see him pass the ball way too much when Lin and Harden are on the court. He knows how to finish around the basket and his pump fake is pretty nice as well. In the current Rockets offense...if he plays more aggressive, he can easily average 18-20 points per game.
