I say 60. Winning 3 out of every 4 games is achievable for this team imo.

I think that's right. Asik is a valuable asset to this team and probably the best backup center in the league. Aside from Howard and Harden, every player on the Rockets is potentially trade-able for the right price, and they all surely know that.

Why should Morey want to trade Asik on the cheap? He shouldn't. But don't be surprised to see some team come along by the trade deadline and make a very compelling offer. There is a real shortage of centers in this league with Asik's abilities. He would be especially valuable to a team with a reliable scorer at the PF position and a lack of a defensive presence in the paint. Asik would solve that problem for them immediately.

I say 56 wins. I dont see many teams being able to match up with up Dwight and the combination of a very fast team. A team where almost everyone is a true threat to score. I think James Harden is going to be even better along with everyone else. The Rockets are true contenders this year, but the top 5 teams in the west look to be very dangerous all in their own right.

They looked good against the Mavericks, but it clearly appears that it will take a while to work out the kinks. Howard is still working to find his place and the team is still working in its chemistry. And there have been different people starting at the PF spot almost every game. This could take a little while for all of this to come together.

It will take awhile to build chemistry but talent should get us by most nights anyway.

There is a serious lack of irrational exuberance on this thread. If you aren't voting 60 or more, you are thinking with your head instead of your heart. Silly thing to do in the preseason. In preseason, the only person thinking with his head should be the GM.

The final roster appears to be in place, with the first game against the Charlotte Bobcats on Wednesday.

Will the Rockets make a straight march to the NBA finals? Or do they have some kinks to work out and some ups and downs to traverse along the way?

I think our low is probably around 52 assuming we have some rough patches. And our high is around 58 if everything goes right. So split the difference and we get to 55.

It will probably take some time for the team to gel - stuff like positioning, passes to the post, rotations will take time. And there might be a major move waiting at the trade deadline.

Hard to predict. I´d say somewhere between 50 and 60...

57-25 Too much TALENT and Depth... Only question is if Asik can start next to Howard or if Jones or Donuts can improve to validate starting... Rockets are pretty good.

Given expectations we seem to be slightly underachieving

Too many fans drank the kool-aid...those that know better knew this team would have some bumps in the road because of inexperience and trying to fit together.

50-54 was always the best guess. 55 and up is usually deserved for the best of the best. Those teams usually have paid their dues.

How did everybody do? Looks like the most favorite selection was perhaps a tad overenthusiastic. But this is a Rockets board, so that is not really a surprise.

In any case, hopefully the Rockets will build on this successful first year with Dwight Howard and have even a better year next year.

One Utah win away from hitting that 55 win bracket
