I know it's not a fresh take or anything but I'm bored at work and I know we all like to make predictions. I think Howard/Harden continue to develop chemistry and Howard's post game takes another step forward. Maybe we'll utilize the damn PnR more. I expect Jones to make another step after getting embarrassed in the playoffs. Bev will be healthy, Nick Johnson looks promising. Biggest problem is lack of secondary creator on offense, hate relying on Harden for so much. Ariza, imo, will be a step up for this Rockets' team giving us 2/3 + perimeter defenders starting. Bench is a really big question mark but the off-season isn't over yet and hopefully Morey can snag a couple guys who will contribute. I know the team isn't really set in stone and lots of things are still fluid but I just wanted it out there I think the Rockets' will improve upon their 13-14 campaign. At least 55
Regardless of our depleted roster, Howard and Harden should only get better after playing together for one whole year. Tendencies, chemistry, and just simply being told to do something day in and day out will give Rockets the ability to execute. As long as we can get some reliable talent on that bench, we're still a 50 win team minimum.
Won't make it far in the playoffs. Won't beat the Clippers, Spurs, Thunder in to seven matches. Optimistically we beat the Mavs every time. Hopefully Lin doesn't go Linsanity on us when we visit Staples Center. Hopefully Asik doesn't go 20/10 on us.
I'd love to see an over under 54 poll. As currently constituted, i'd definitely go under, but if Morey add session or brooks and a decent backup big, perhaps eddavis or okafor or joneal it'll be interesting.
I will guess about the same last year. Harden/Dwight had a year to mesh, Harden will have had another offseason to improve. But the supporting cast is downgraded.
Hi everyone! Good to be back. Looks like my countryman, Omri Casspi, is out of here (A pitty, I reckon...) But I'm not going anywhere! (As I wrote time and time again - I'm not a COF) I think last year I predicted we'll have 53 wins, and got pretty close. This time I voted 54. I think we have a lot of work on making the parts work together (with many roster changes), and that would take us at least until AS break. All-in-all the final outcome in regular season will probably look like last year (perhaps with less boneheaded early experimenting like last year's TT, but also with less late unexpected successes like TJ & Troy...) The main thing, then, is Playoff readyness (we should be more mature by now), and a wider playoff rotation (We all saw how the Spurs looked after using 12-13 players all the way...) I'm optimistic - I'm sure we will get to 2nd round or further this time!
